Game crash when viewing sponsor tab

I just started my 3rd season in career mode with an originally continental team (Bontrager from the real name DB 2013). I've been promoted to the WT however, when I try to open the sponsor tab to check objectives the game crashes. I've advanced the calendar to Jan 2nd but the problem still persists.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

This is way to less information to find the problem.
When exactly does it crash? Where do you click? (see image below)
Did you edit your save at any time? If yes, what?
Was the sponsor contract running out? If yes, when?

the crash occurs when clicking the sponsor tab from the manager drop down menu. I never get to view the actual sponsor page to see what the seasons objectives are.
I have not edited any portion of the game.
It is currently Jan 2nd 2015 and my sponsor contract isn't due to expire until 2017.

I had that crash a few times as well.
I tracked it down to be caused by too few sponsor goals when I looked at the cdb.
Plussbank f.ex. only participated in 4 races, so logically they only had 4 sponsor goals. I guess the game simply crashes when the team doesn't have the full 10 goals.
Why that would happen in WT is beyond me though.

Bummer... so basically this career is over I take it? or do I just blow off completing sponsor goals until the career advances to a point when I can change sponsors?

First you have to check if the objectives are causing your problem. It would be in the table DYN_objective. If that's the problem (there less than 10 goals), you can add some more goals.
your save would be here: my documents\pcm13\user\your name\database\solo\name of db\
And you can open it with an editor. |

Well unfortunately I truly don't understand how to use the database editors (I've downloaded yours and tried poking around it) and my knowledge of cycling is very limited, so I don't have a clue what goals I should be setting even if I understood the editor.
Is this just a problem with the player made databases? or is this a problem that would happen even if you were to use the games original database?

Nobody can answer that if you cannot even verify if the problem comes from the sponsor goals.
But you don't need any cycling knowledge to add these goals. One possibility would be to open an old save in the weeklysave folder and write down the values. Then open your actual save and add it.
Or you can attach your save and ask somebody to have a look and fix it. |

When I started the first year as Bontrager in the continental bracket originally I had 10 sponsor goals.
The 2nd year I moved up to the continental pro bracket, my sponsorship was due to be renewed, which I did. That took the sponsorship to 2017, however there where only 5 sponsor goals for that year (2014).
Now it's currently Jan 2 2015 and I've been promoted to the WT bracket, but when I open with the editor in weekly saves the same 5 sponsor goals are still there. Would I need to advance the game calender so that the weekly save consists of a full week in 2015 to identify the new sponsor goals (if any) for 2015 (i.e. so there is no overlap between 2014 and 2015) it appears that the 5 goals are showing as satisfied, so I believe it's still showing the 2014 goals is why I'm asking.

Sorry but I cannot follow.
I already told you where you can find your save (from Jan 2nd 2015). You need to edit that file.
The files in the weeklysave folder are older because these are backups. You only need these files to copy the sponsor goals from, which is not possible according to your description.
If you cannot figure it out yourself, attach your file to your post and ask somebody to have a look. Should be faster then writing about it. (Click REPLY, then select the file.) |

I think this is the correct file... it appears that there are only 4 goals... the thing I'm not sure of is what would be appropriate goals for my team being it is their 1st year on the WT.

1. Put the file in to the save game location
2. Start the game
3. Click on Load
4. Select the file you just put in
5. Click the Load button below

Thanks again for your time and patience in dealing with me and this issue. I've got it into game and the crash is fixed. Thank you again... for future reference could this have been avoided by simply not playing a U.S. team... or by taking a different sponsor when promoted to WT? |

I wouldn't go as far as not playing with the team your prefer the most or taking a different sponsor just because of this bug; after all, it's quite simple to be fixed manually (any time it crashes you can check if it this is the case). It's really weird that the game doesn't fill enough minimum goals, especially as a WT team, there should be plenty of goals. I don't remember this bug in previous games, so I imagine it's new in PCM13, so you can also hope that Cyanide will fix it in a possible patch.
There's also the possibility that this happens to other teams, since after all the Off. Release has 6 American races, and the game only assigned 4 goals in this case...
That said, the Expansion Pack (follow up of PCMDaily's DB) will add at least 10 new American races, so you won't have to worry about that anymore
