I am wondering if it is possible to edit a riders attribute more than 85. the db editor turns any higher entry to just 85. Is it possible to edit a riders attribute more than 85 ? how ?
Thank you |

It's not possible. At least it wasn't in PCM 12. You can edit it to 90, for example, but it will function as 85 and the next time he'll level a stat, it will reset to 85. |

It does make you wonder though why the game is using such a weird scale. 50-85 doesn't seem logical... why not 50-100 for example? or 1-100? Or even 1-20?
It's just... weird |

thanks a lot guys, a superman with 200 atribute was what I miss from the 1st pcm game, it was fun just seeing how few would be left after the time cuts in the tdf.
thanks again. |

You can lower the stats of the others by 10, so you'll have the same effect

yes, I've done that before with other editions, the play does not feel the same and editing all the other riders too is a lot of work- I just want to have simple easy fun.
thanks |

Nah, 1-20 wouldn't be good, hard to reflect the huge differences between abilities then. (Favourites would be too close to each other, sprinters would or finish out of time(if MO 1/2), or be better than CT climbers(If MO 4/5), especially the weaker ones.
I think 1-40 would be better.

In PCM11 my Duarte had 86 bcoz of mountain camp. I don't know how it looked in the database but on the ingame interface he had 86 for sure. |

I see what you mean Jesley.
Then again riders are hardly ever given stats above 83, and most people agree that the youngridercarac files have scouted riders start off too weak... meaning its pretty redundant to have a range that extends below 60.
The difference between 50-85 and 1-20 looks huge indeed, but when you compare 60-83 to 1-20 it's not so big anymore |

NTTHRASH once said that he found a way to change the stats matrix in PCM12. You could contact him to see if it's possible to do in PCM13.

Maybe for the World Tour riders, but for the rest of them having stats below 60 is pretty important! In several CT races the favorites have maximum 70~72 in their main stat, and even lower for their team mates. Besides, f.e. 60 MO for a sprinter may seem a minimum for all sprinters, but usually it's only for top-level sprinters (to just finish a GT you need to climb a bit).
Btw, did you mean "youngridercarac files have scouted riders start off too weak", or did you mean too strong? Because in Cya's original PCM13 files they were a lot strong, while in community youngridercarac they'll be weaker (more realistic imo). So it's possible to choose whether they'll start off too weak/too strong

I heard my name called.
Sadly, the matrix in PCM13 is very...awkward to modify. The PCM12 matrix was a simple code modification, and only took 30 seconds to edit. The PCM13 matrix is a reflexive matrix, and modifies itself to keep the 50-85 bounds. The code is not open the same way as in PCM12, so I have not yet been able to modify this. However, if you set the stat limits to the same number as the stat you want above 85, the stat will only reset after the year ends.

thank you for your information. learning to hack my games in the 80s not only made the game more fun for me, the side-benefit of understanding programs was invaluable. Without your post I might have found myself wasting too much time in a futile effort. Sometimes it's better to call it a day and move on. Thank you |

The scale will basically be due to the engine. The game engine runs off the stat numbers, I imagine 50-85 was the easiest way to keep uniformity so its easy to understand and game balance. |
