We have a pre-Tour thread for that

Froomedog, you've got Quintana for white, despite the fact that both Talansky and Pinot are ahead of him in your prediction.
I was going to wait until Friday before making a prediction, but I doubt I'm going to change my mind so I'll drop it off now instead.
1. Froome
2. Valverde
3. Rodriguez
4. Contador
5. Vandenbroeck
6. Evans
7. Hesjedal
8. Pinot
9. Van Garderen
10. Fuglsang
Froome will be a good couple of minutes ahead of everyone else. I wanted to put Porte in the top 5 as well, but I just couldn't find room for him. There's always the chance that he'll blow up on some stage if he tries to close too many attacks for Froome, I guess.
Contador I feel is rather overrated this year. The way I see it, there's no way in hell he'll come anywhere near Froome, and a podium will be tough. I'm choosing to pick Piti and Purito over him.
Overall, really difficult to narrow it down to just ten riders. I could easily name ten others who I could see there as well. Schleck, Talansky, Rolland are a few of the names I was thinking of. Quintana isn't quite ready to go for the GC yet, and will target stage wins instead.
Points will be an easy win for Cavendish. Tons of flat stages, while there are less hilly Sagan-finishes than last year. Polkadots to someone from Euskaltel. Izagirre, Nieve or maybe even Anton.

3. Rodriguez
4. Valverde
5. van den Broeck
6. Quintana
7. van Garderen
8. Pinot
9. Rolland
10. Mollema
That was a stressful exercise! No idea how I managed to omit Porte, Evans and Fuglsang from that list but I did.
Points - Cav easily
Mountains - Rolland perhaps? No idea really
White: Quintana
Team: Sky
Combativity: Pirazzi (Oh wait no this isn't the Giro anymore) Don't have a clue. Voeckler? Roy? de Gendt?

My most likely top 3 goes Froome, Contador (by about 1:30), and J-RO.
That said, I never feel certain when Froome is involved. But, if he stays upright and out of trouble, it's there for the taking, imo.
Porte will remain in top 3 after a few mountains, but will gradually lose more and more time to drop out of top 15.
Quintana to win white, after squeezing just enough time from the time trials away from Pinot.
KOM - Rolland, making up for a disappointing first week's time losses... or if he is there, perhaps Brice Feillu.
Team - Radioshack
That's my 2 cents |
