The Crits Series comes back to Europe and as the Giro d'Italia is soon to be held, there's no better country than Italy for the next stop.
R1/ Teramo
R2/ Ascoli
R3/ Avezzano
R4/ Marcellina (Monte Morra)
R5/ Roma
2 hilly and 3 flat races, while there are some difficulties in the flat ones. Especially the concluding race in Roma may see some pure sprinters struggling.
Highlight of this Italian Crits Series will be the "mountain top-finish" on Monte Morra. A first chance for climbers to challenge the puncheurs? We will see.
As usual 14 teams with 5 riders each are invited to this criterium series, from the following countries: Italy, Switzerland and Austria. Also riders from Romania, San Marino or Greece may get a chance to take part.
All PT/PCT/CT managers are able to nominate their riders. If many managers want to nominate riders for a specific country, I will try to form a well balanced team with riders from several teams.
The maximum average is 72,99. This will secure that mainly these riders will participate that don`t get many chances to ride on their own in other races.
So, the rules for nominations remain the same as usual: all managers with eligible riders from the mentioned countries can nominate up to 5 riders (in order of preference). While we will balance the teams as fair as possible.
The following MG-teams will be garantueed to ride in their own colors, if they'll nominate 5 riders for the specific country:
Cisco, Venchi, Vespa, Kappa, Wiggle, ING
Magna
UBS
Depending on how many "full teams" take part, we'll decide how many "mixed teams" for which country will be in.
You have time to nominate your players until Tuesday, 7th of May, 10:00 CET. |

Sauber Petronas would like to nominate the following riders
Gregory Hugentobler
Stefan Kung
Giacomo Scarponi
Nino Schurter
Gabriel Chavanne
And if SN Agrees to it then
Riccardo Zoidl
If possible I'd like to see Hugentobler on a seperate team to Schurter as I'd like to avoid seeing him ride for Schurter.

I had hoped that Mezgec might finally be able to show up in a crit race. Do you plan a race where riders from Slovenia are eligible?

The Russian Crits and also the Baltic Crits will feature countries from Eastern Europe
I'll put him on the waiting-list anyway, if we need some riders in the end.

Team Puma - SAP nominates
Fabio Felline
who is especially suited to lumpy stages ending in a reduced group sprint.

Both Elia Viviani and Mauro Facci are nominated from Simply Red Bull. Both would serve as excellent team mates.

I didn't know he switched nationality to Irish?
I'd like to nominate Salerno, Possoni, Osella, Agostini and Battaglin to form a Cisco squad.
Finally a Crit Series race where my riders will have some chance.

I forgot to nominate Pozzo, but I don't think I'll change that after this
Hell, I've been learning for 8 hours a day this week, and now I'm supposed to distinguish 4 pixels of red or dark orange?
(I nominate Mattia Pozzo as well btw, figure out his nationality yourself )

Please nominate riders from the eligible countries/Austria only.
While Belletti may ride in your colors, you still should nominate two more instead of Speirs, Matteau!

Hoping to be able to get an Austrian team riding in my colors:
Mattias Brändle
Georg Preidler
Daniel Schorn
Christoph Taubel (loaned out)
Just one more rider (from someone, maybe Puma-SAP as they are a german team aswell, so a natural connection) and we can ride in the VolksWagen-Mapei jerseys (or we can let one of my germans join (A))
