Welcome to the beautiful Istrian peninsula in Croatia, where the Trofej Porec has it's ManGame-debut.
Rated as a flat cobbled classic, the profile should provide some interesting tactics, as the short hills may hurt one's legs. Anyway, with the race being only 152kms long, the riders should also have a couple of chances to try an attack.
Startlist/
Teams and favorites/
With only 8 teams participating (due to the fact, that Nokere-Koerse is held simultaneously), it ain't hard to pick the favorites.. you may think! And given that the cobblers will take control (even though it's only 7 paved kms in total), the top-favorites are indeed soon to be found:
Allianz-BMW has Arnaud Coyot as their leader here and that's a great chance for him to claim a victory.
Die Berg Komt Er brought it's strongest cobblers in Niki Østergaard and Sébastien Chavanel, while Leonardo Duque looks like a good fit for this race, too. Plus, if the race is one for the sprinters, Igor Abakoumov will have a chance for sure. Definitely the strongest line-up.
Jonas Vangenechten joins the top-duo Coyot/Østergaard and his manager will be pleased, that most cobblers decided to go for Nokere-Koerse.
Ekspla-Cision's Aleksei Saramotins is also top-seeded here, as he combines a decent sprint with mediocre cobbled-skills (which is enough to be good here). You better watch out for the veteran if a bunch-sprint will decide the Trofej Porec.
Risa-Ergon's Øystein Stake Laengen lacks outstanding skills, but he's decent on the pavement and is therefore someone more to watch out for.
Same goes for Arturs Ansons from Team PrivatBank. He's kind of a weaker "version" of his compatriot Saramotins, but is as fast as him when a bunch sprints for the win.
Credexbank's strongest cobbler here is Kanstantin Khviyuzau, so it seems like the DS hopes for either a mass-sprint (Simon Clarke) or maybe a race for a puncheur (Michal Golas).
Vattenfall will also hope for this race finishing like an usual flat classic, as Marcos Crespo would be one of the better sprinters here.
First impressions/

Certainly a much weaker startlist compared to belgian classic. I will go with a surprise and say Duque for the win!

Vorganov with a late attack. I hope...
Pretty weak starting list, actually gives me hopes for atleast 10 points

Obviously hoped for everyone to go to Nokere. Can't say I'm disappointed with this startlist. I could theoratically get three riders in the top 5, as long as cobblers won't be blocking my riders in the final sprint

Saramotins and Duque to battle it out.
I can't imagine big splits with that few cobbles, and don't forget that bit of hilly stuff at the end.

Anything can happen in this race, breakaway win, sprint, late attack.....
I think Die Berg will take a heap of points here.

I have a feeling that the cobbles aren't going to make much diference. |

I so should of turned up and brought Bakari!!
Can't look beyond Coyot for the win. De Berg would have to work well as a team to beat him.
But then again such a small startlist may see a break take it
Always got my eye on the cobbles, and this will be an interesting one

I like Saramotins, he is a real hard nut of a rider. For some reason Die Berg's tactics don't seem to be quite working out so that is why I'll go with Saramotins I think.

Saramotins should do really well here. I would almost say, that anything but top 3 is a disappointment, as I really back him to win this.
The small peloton is going to make this interesting however, and I could see a breakaway snatching this.

Invisable. As expected...
Few more of these cobbled races for my team... Really had Saramotins as a transfertarget, just for these races...

Good ride by Vangenechten! Joined the right attack, and had a strong final kick. Shame he lost contact for a moment.
And with Nardin sprinting to 7th this was a very successful race for Team Gazelle.
