Right after I got PCM 12 I started to make some stages and after some time I had some together last week I rediscovered the stage editor and started to make a Tour Down Under variant, nothing great but I thought I could share it here. From the old stages I only think the Austrian National Champs are worth it to upload them, so here they are:
Stage 1: Launceston - Bridport
My variant starts somehow strange and unrealistic: I decided to put the start to the hilly island of Tasmania. Where it starts rather central and goes to the north coast. Although its classified as hilly sprinters might have the chance to stay with the pack.
Stage 2: Geelong - Apollo Bay
From Geelong, west of Melbourne, we start to move westwards in the direction of Adelaide, the original area of the TDU. Nothing much to say it's flat.
Stage 3: Adelaide - Victor Harbour
The only obstacle, the Mount Lofty, is propably to far from the finish to divide the peloton in its part. That means another stage for the sprinters.
Stage 4: Strathalbyn - Mount Lofty
A stage through the countryside of South Australia, before we are back at Mount Lofty, on whichs summit the finish is, on a long steep climb maybe a little bit tp long for pure puncheurs.
Stage 5: Kangarilla - Old Willunga Hill
Stage 5 is Willunga hill stage! This time the famous hill in the east of Adelaide is climbed six times, more often then usual. On this stage is decided everything: Not only the favourites for the overall classement are fighting each other for the ochre leading jersey, the contender for he mountain jersey will ride out their final fight: Each time they pass the summit points for the mountain classification are awarded.
Stage 6: Adelaide - Adelaide
The usual circuit in downtown of Adelaide.

Nobody has done some so I did them, it's inside the original town but not exactly the same route:
Roadrace
Timetrial

I've taken a closer look at the stages, more specifically the Austrian Nats:
1 - Did you create the cities before setting out the route on the RR stage? If yes, that's why the buildings look this way (see attached pic). That happens when you create cities which doesn't get close to the route - since in game, the details of these cities will barely be seen, the game does this very simple buildings to save RAM. To fix it now, all you'd have to do is move any point of the city - then, the city "recalculates" itself, and since it's near a route you'll have buildings with the normal details.
2 - I've noticed you changed the color of some roads, which is nice But don't forget to add road markers to them, looks much better
3 - The map is really small, and on some point the road gets really close to the "end" of the map. I assume you used the .gpx to generate the terrain coordinates? Well, if yes that's a problem on the editor, but you can always manually change them when you see that the map is too small/route gets too close to the border
4 - I'd advise not using narrow roads in road races, unless it's a very special occasion (such as a small trail leading to the very top of a climb, or a cobbled section). I think that they can ruin the gameplay, and they're very annoying
Other than that, the stages look good. Nice job

I made the Austrian Nats long ago so I don't really remember what I did with them but I will change these things soon Already In the TDU there aren't most of these problems |

I just found out that I don't have the problem with the buildings looking like with you and I thought narrow roads wouldn't be a problem with only 15 starters |

Weird, re-downloaded but I still have the strange buildings. Could you re-export/re-upload perhaps? And that's true about the narrow roads. Well, you can take as a general advice to all stages Though I'd still change it to normal, even in this case

Updated the NCs: no narrow roads and there should be no problem with the cities but I somehow can't open them in the stage viewer...

Forget it Victorian; the TDU isn't leaving SA . Sorry. Maybe Mount Lofty one too many times (it is a pretty road though) but other then that, I really like this TDU variant. I might try putting it into the game once the V1 DB is released, if it isn't a variant already .

I know but I first did the stage just for me and thought why not make something strange/different |

Some weeks ago I started doing a Tour of Beijing variant today I finished:
Stage 1: Beijing - Langfang
A panflat stage leaving Beijing at the south to finish in the city of Langfang, where the sprinters will battle for the win.
Stage 2: Beijing Olympic Park TTT
A 35 kilometres long Team Time Trial in the olympic park, that means captains with a weak Time Trial squad can give up their hopes for the overall classification after this stage.
Stage 3: Beijing - Weicicun
Leaving Beijing for steep mountains to fight for the overall classification and the win of this Tour on the steep roads of Weicicun.
Stage 4: Mentougou - Badaling
Starting in the west of Beijing in north direction to Badaling, famous, because the Great wall of china here. The decisive stage, classified as hilly, will be rode on a circuit in and around Badaling.
Stage 5: Shunyi
The last stage is on a circuit around the Canoeing and Rowing Park of the 2008 Olympics. The sprinters will fight here for the Points jersey and a last stage win. The overall classification should already been decided.
