I down loaded and am using the latest database I got from this site.
I'm playing the career mode with my custom team.
Here's the problem. I just finished the 2012 season fine and happened to be looking at the free riders and noticed that Cavendish was a free rider and was NOT on any team. I also noticed that many other riders did not renew their contract with their old team or they did not find a new team and they are free riders too.
Some of the teams appear to be pretty low on riders as well.
I have the Free Editor and it works good.
I want to put as many of these riders back on the teams they belong on.
I put Cavendish on Omega Lotto - Quick Step using the "Cyclists" area or option. But I DO NOT know what numbers to put in his contract box. There are a bunch of numbers from [0 to 1753] that you can scroll down and chose. What number should I use? Does it matter if he has the proper number there? I would like to keep the pay stats realistic if I can.
I saved the DB after I put Cavendish on his team and went to the "Cyclists-Contract" area and it didn't show a contract for Cavendish or that he was on Quick Step.
Can someone help me with this because having Cavendish take the year off is NOT acceptable and I want to have him and a lot of other riders back in the 2013 game season..
Thank you and I apologize for the long message. I try to give as much info as I can.
Thank you.

Lance Armstrong for President! Why not have an admitted doper and cheat as president? He would fit in perfectly with all of the lying politicians.
If you're talking about his contract column in DYN_cyclist, it should be the number of his contract. The numbers you're seeing are contracts from other cyclists, you can't use them. You should create a new contract for Cav in DYN_cyclist_contract, and then assign the ID of that contract in his 'contract box'. I'd advise disabling lists (guess you're using the Fast Editor?), makes it easier imo in this case. But anyway, changing his fkIDteam and assigning him a contract isn't the only thing you'll need to do to get him into a team: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....ost_501831 https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....ost_562714
(you need to do what is mentioned on both posts linked above)
I was able to create the contract and then I used the id number when I assigned Cav to Quick Step.
He is on the team now and he has pay showing. But it still says that he is Sad to leave. On the page before that in the area that shows the riders team history, it does not show that he is on Quick Step for 2013. It is blank.
#1) I looked at the links you provided above but I could not find the DYN_contract_cyclist. I am using Fast Editor and I "think" that "Cyclists Contracts" is the same. And I created the contract and got the ID number.
#2) I could not find DYN_cyclist -> fkIDcontract. But "Cyclists" seems to be the same. I assigned him to the team and gave him protected status as a sprinter and used the ID number. Everything else in here concerns his ability stats and height and weight and all that.
#3) There is nothing that resembles DYN_cyclist -> fkIDteam
#4) There is nothing that I could find that looks like DYN_cyclist -> fkIDcyclist_future so I could not change his status of "Sad to leave" to "Happy to stay.
What editor should I be using in order to follow your instructions? I have been using Free Editor to make minor changes to things like the teams "Objectives" But I can only alter the riders with no contracts (partially) that I want to put back on a team so that they can be in the game.
I guess its fine because he is back on a team but i would like to be able to fix what I wasn't able to fix with fast Editor so it can be set right.
What editor should I get?
Thank you.

All editors open the same tables from the DB. The only thing is that in the Fast Editor the names are changed, so that it's easier for the users. DYN_contract_cyclist is indeed "Cyclist Contracts". DYN_cyclist is "Cyclists". fkIDteam = team, 5th column in Cyclists. fkIDcyclist_future is actually written fkIDcyclist_future It's near the end of cyclists, next to the rank_f_orientations (a bunch of big numbers).
And btw, are you in 2012's off-season (after October, but before 2013) or already in 2013? If you're already in 2013 it should be simpler, just need to change his "team" in cyclist and assign him a contract. Additionally, if you are already in 2013 his team in "history" won't change - that is a line set in DYN_palmares (only Palmares in Fast Editor), and is written on Jan 1st. You'd need to edit the line, otherwise it'll still appear blank despite him being in Quick Step, but that won't really cause any problem
Thank you for the help with this. But I give up. I can not do it. I was able to get Cavendish in the game and everything on his salary page looks good. I can't get his main screen area where it says what team he is on for 2013 to say anything. It's just a blank...
I wanted to put another rider back on his Lotto team and COULD NOT do it no matter how hard I tried and I tried VERY HARD. You can not type the name in to the area for a name because different names for riders that have a last name starting with the letter you are typing comes up. It seems like it only allows you to put a rider that already has a contract in the space.
Some how I got Cavendish in there but when I tried a different rider and by chance got his name in the space when I went to put him in to his team I COULD NOT get the contract number to come up. When you typed a number in it kept bringing up numbers that were no where near the number I needed. And looking in the scroll down list is impossible because those numbers ARE NOT in order! And there are over 3000 numbers in there!
Maybe I'll try Lachis Editor but honestly that doesn't look any easier to use. So I think that my PCM cycling career is unfortunately OVER after completing only 1 season. Why this game sees fit to remove riders from teams when their contract expires and have them sit in the free riders bin is beyond me. Most of the teams in the game now have half the riders they should have on the team.
I'll accept having Cavendish or any star ride for Landbowkredit or some low level Continental team like that but not having them in the game is NOT ACCEPTABLE. And getting them BACK in the game is a MAJOR pain in the A$$.
I am FINISHED with OCM :-(
Thank you for your help lluuiiggii and sorry for the long novel explaining my displeasure. Its not your fault, it's my fault for being so stupid (especially for buying a game such as OCM...)

Lists = instead of seeing 3 for country, you'll see FRA, instead of seeing 8, you'll see ESP. Instead of seeing numbers of contract IDs, you'll simply have a box where you can write normally the ID. In the contract table, instead of seeing rider names you'll be able to write the rider's ID. As I said, might be easier in this case
I forgot to say that I am using the Fast Editor and my game save is in the first week of January 2013...
I disabled the list grid or whatever it is in fast Editor and now the rider names and teams are replaced by a number. I can't keep track of where I am and know less of what to do then before. At least I could find the team that rider is supposed to be on and switching back and forth between modes is not doable...
I am frustrated with this process. If I want to try to get the riders that don't have a contract back on their team or any team for that matter I would be looking at getting well over 100 riders back on a team.
I was looking at Lotto as an example. They are a World Tour team and they now have only 17 riders on their team! The same for all of the other teams. What World tour team would go in to a season with "only" 17 riders on the team? None would because they would not be able to cover all of the required races. In fact, the UCI would NOT allow a team to be short that many riders.
The teams in this game DO NOT even try to sign riders that have a contract that is running out and they do NOT try to replace the riders that did not sign. Thats a MAJOR shortcoming in this game as I see it. And I am NOT able to replace all of the riders and to build up the teams to full strength. Because i CAN NOT get those editors to work properly and they are not easy to use.
Maybe I'll try Lachis Editor but that doesn't look very promising when the task to get 100 to 200 riders back on a team is staring me in the face. if i was an expert on those editors maybe but I'm not. I get frustrated easily.
Thank you for taking the time to help me lluuiiggii but I think this case is hopeless. Unfortunately it looks like my OCM career is OVER. They need to re-design this game better to prevent a mass exodus of riders from their teams... Thank you...
Lance Armstrong for President! Why not have an admitted doper and cheat as president? He would fit in perfectly with all of the lying politicians.
Disregard what I said above about riders leaving their team and not being replaced. I was WRONG and wanted to say that.
I researched this extensively. I checked every rider and took a good sampling of all of the World Tour teams and several of the smaller Continental teams.
This is what I found. When a rider does not have his contract renewed by his team he leaves the team. Whether he finds a new team or not the game does not care. Some riders like Cavendish in my game did not find a new team and he remained a free rider claimed by NO team.
However each AI team that I researched did indeed add a rider to replace the one that left. The new rider came from either another team, from the (free) riders list or they were generated by the game as new (rookie) riders.
So I say again, I was WRONG in my assessment that the game did not replace riders that left the team and that teams would eventually not have enough riders to compete as they were able to compete during their first "game" season. Teams DO add riders and they DO try to replace lost riders on the team and in some cases that I found they actually added more then just the one rider that left. Some teams added additional extra riders if they were under the 30 rider team limit and I'm assuming salary cap imposed by the sponsor.
I apologize for the wrong information I have been writing about.
Thank you for the help that many of you have provided to me. I was able to eventually add the star riders back to their team, like Cavendish.
