The Bay Classic series proved to be very exciting and a nice addition. So next stop is South Africa: Port Elizabeth for the Herald Cycle Series.
Soon we will see some of the very best PCT puncheurs to fight for the win in the Tour de South Africa. Beforehead we will give some riders the chance to get a special preparation.
All four stages take place in the South African city Port Elizabeth. The Crit Series contains 3 flat and 1 hilly stage. The top 10 of each stage collect points, which will be counted together for the overall classification.
14 Teams with 5 riders each are invited to this Crit Series. Most of them will come from the African continent with Eritrea, South Africa and a mixed African team are having the maximum of 2 teams. Algeria, Kenya, Morocco, Tunesia and Rwanda will have one team. Only 3 teams from outside of Africa will participate. These are Latvia, Slovakia and Iran.
All PT/PCT/CT managers are able to nominate their riders. If many managers want to nominate riders for a specific country, I will try to form a well balanced team with riders from several teams. Some managers obviously will have more riders due to an African focus than others.
The maximum average is 72,99. This will secure that mainly these riders will participate that don`t get many chances to ride on their own in other races.
3 teams will have the chance to start as their own team due to their high number of African riders. These are Jaguar (Eritrea), Kenya Airways (Kenya) and MTN (South Africa).
The 2 mixed African teams will contain riders from Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivory, Cameroun, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gabun and Namibia.
Points collected in these criteriums will also be added to the overall criterium ranking, which will be updated from criterium to criterium. More exact information about the overall ranking might follow at a later time.
So if you have appropriate riders, feel free to nominate.
You have time to nominate your players until 28th of January, 10:00 CET, so that I can race and report the stages right behind and ahead of the Tour of South Africa.

Could be a fun crit series for Jaguar
My nominated Eritrea squad is: Teklehaimanot, Abraham, Teklit, Dawit, Afewerki
With 2 Eritrean teams, the only way to fill them with contracted riders would be to take more of my Eritreans, but I leave that up to you.
And again, looking at other countries where 5 contracted riders wouldnt be reached without Jaguar:
Algeria: Madani, Reguigui
Morocco: Lahsaini, Abelouache
Rwanda: Hadi
Tunisia: Khederi
Theres 13 contracted riders eligible for 10 mixed teams, 4 of them are Jaguar - so I would definately like to nominate Konte. Anguilet, Cisse and Petrus will be happy to jump in if space remains for them.

@Bjartne and SN: For this crit series, we won't give a limit on the nominees per team, as we wanted to fill up/balance the teams as best as possible. So expect all of your nominations to be accepted where needed. It's still up to roturn to balance the teams, but we prefer taking as many contracted riders as available here.

Sadly our only South African is too good on average, so again same situation as Down Under with Haijun Ma, noone from Metinvest present.
Anyway nice series, good luck to all.

AMEXpc has just a single rider to submit. Maher Hasnaoui is a two time Tunisian National champion.

@ Avin: Surely you will get more chances in later crit races.
@ SN: I thought quite long about Eritrea. But it was the only real Nation next to South Africa with enough riders under contract, which I prefer over free agents. Had 4-5 different start lists but this looked the most interesting/realistic. And with a long Eritrean row of contracted cyclists I though about this scenario. One mixed and one Jaguar team. So feel free to nominate a few more.
Will start to add some obvious riders into the team post. Some Nations will have to wait for their final squad as it will be decided when looking at all nominations, so that a lot of managers will have chances to have one rider.

None of my riders meet the requirements, so I'll follow this only as spectator. Hopefully it'll be as fun as the previous one.

You may also nominate a 5th South African for your MTN-team, just for the case, that Cherif Abdallah has to ride for a mixed African team But anyway, looking forward to what Tyler Day will show here.
Edit: Okay, you did
