I'm interested in getting into PCM. My question is, when you're in the middle of, for example, a TdF stage, can you save the game at this point, exit the game and then reload to resume where you left off? I especially want to know whether this can be done when you are in the "real-time" mode, as opposed to a simulation.
My only manager game experience is Football Manager. It will not allow you to save during a match. |

no, as far as I know you can't save mid race

I can second that. You can only save it between stages.
Races are raced in a 1/10 scale so normally it isn't necessary, too, since a stage shouldn't last longer than an hour, top. |

Thanks, guys, for the help. An hour or so is doable, about akin to playing a real-timer in Football Manager, as opposed to playing a match in the highlights mode. I had fears of a 4.5-hour computer stint on one of those mountain stages. |

One hour? Wow, do you guys play the whole thing on x1? To me it depends on the stage, of course, but, for example, when trying Pellizotti's version of F-W, it took me 15~20 minutes each time. And then 10 minutes seeing over and over the same thing in the replay if I'd won

Well, it depends on the stage. Some stages take 40 minutes for me, some 15...
I do x1 almost everything, just some uninteresting parts are x2/x4'd
Of course for example Roubaix takes longer than a prologue(which I also x8 most of the time)
Feyenoord(football) and Kelderman fanboy

I play the stages 30-60 minutes, spending 10 minutes with it cant be called playing, especially with a PT classic.
I play x1 in majority, yes.

Not only do I mostly play x1 (well, except on boring flat sections or when I get really nervous in a stage, I'm afraid to watch and put it x4 ), and I tend to pause a lot, too. So it takes a while.
But much depensd on the stage, of course. A flat race with a sprint can be finished in 10 minutes easily! |

FLat stages go with 8x for the first half (when I don't want to be in a BOTD). The last part at lower speed, but often at 2x. Mountain stages go at 4x for the most part, when things get tricky, then 1x.
So some stages last 15 min, some 30, max 45.

Many thanks for the responses to my question. I'm gonna get PCM today. The big bonus is that Steam is selling it for half price through Jan. 5. |

shit. It must take long to get a career done for you guys. My longest stages in grand tours takes 15-20 minutes. usually it takes about 5-7 minutes if it´s a flat stage. 10 minutes if I have a guy in the breakaway. 5-7 if I have a sprinter. I play almost everything on X8 except for the important parts ofc. fetch bottles, mid-stagemountains (to watch out for increasing speed), cobbles sections. |
