Evening all...
Finally got a new more powerful laptop and therefore am using the truecrime real database which is EPIC.. My issue is however that in my first season with Sky im obviously paying quite big bucks for the usual suspects, wiggo etc...
Now the issue I have Is This!!!??? ....
Its all well and good having these big people on massive contracts but when it comes to renewing contracts im unable too due to the fact I don't have the budget next year? YES ok Sky has big contracts and im sure their is the calls for "well you need to choose who you want to keep" ... but heres my issue, to prove my point so to speak IF I do not renew 6 guys contracts and ONLY want to renew wiggins and drop 6 riders next year I STILL do not have to budget to do this!? Surely this is a "bug"?
SO I played on and signed talansky and lost all 7 riders that left and have come to try and renew froomes contract which is miniscule compared to last year and CANNOT afford to renew this contract and keep other riders also!?
SO to put a long story rather short, Sky (being a massively profitable company) dropping the budget massively 2 years running so much so that I have to choose between 1 rider and dropping another 6.. or signing possibly 3/4 of the "lesser riders"" and keep loosing my unexpensive comparitably bigger riders??
Is this a normal thing? |

Well... Maybe you are on the salary cap of the game? You can't offer salary if you already pay 600.000 euro on wages(not sure how much in f.e. dollars)
There is also a rider amount cap of 30, but I don't think that is it, since you released some riders. There is a max. Wages budget that the sponsor gives you(not the same as the sponsor budget you get) You can see it when you offer someone a contract, listed under the contract clauses... It depends on sponsor hapiness, sponsor budget, and the current wages you pay.
I think it's one of these three things... Oh yeah, and you can't double the budget for the next year, but I don't think that that's it, because you're playing with Sky.

As far as I know, there is a bug in the game if you don't use EURO currency.
But even when playing with Euros, the absolute maximum wage limit is 600000.
That said, it would be easier if you would post a picture of the contract negotiation interface, so that we see all the numbers. Saves you a lot of writing also.
But if the problem really comes from the absolute maximum, then the only solution is to lower the actual contracts of the riders. This is done by opening the save using an editor. There are many instructions in this forum how to do it, so either search or ask again. |

Ive had a more in depth look at the wage budget and I can see now the issue, In the original databae the wage bill at sky is 468 thousand and on the truecrime release it is also 438 for team sky BUT the wages of the riders in the "update" are considerably higher than on the original database...
So im now looking to "editing" the wages of my team to suit the budget a bit more realistically..
Ive got your (lachis) editor but don't have the foggiest idea of how to use it and "searching" for a few hours is bearing rather unfruitful ... All im wanting to edit is the wages down to a more reasonable level.. other than that the update is utterly epic!!!! |

What's the "truecrime database"? But anyway, neither the wages nor the budget can be defined in the DB before you start a career. The wages are calculated according to the rider's ability, and the budget is either less, equal or more than the sum of all rider wages depending on the financial difficulty you choose when starting the career.
If you want to edit the wages, you should open your savegame with Lachi's editor (savegame is located in My Docs/PCM12/Users/username/Database/Solo/DB of career) and edit the values in table DYN_contract_cyclist.

Using my editor:
1. Start the editor
2. Click the start and then "extract cdb"
3. Navigate to my documents\pcm12\users\your name\database\solo\name of db\
4. Select the save, then wait until it has been extracted
5. Make sure the option "Use team filter" is enabled (top right)
6. Select the table "DYN_contract_cyclist"
7. Change the wages in the column "finan_i_period_wage"
8. After you changed everything you want, click the star again and "Export to cdb"
9. Enter another file name just in case you messed something up
10. start the game and load the newly created save |

In that case, it's CrueTrue, not truecrime

I think I've just come across a "bug" that might be related to this. It's not really something that will cause trouble though.
What happens is that when you offer a renewal of a contract that will not expire at the end of the season the game counts the offer on top of the contract he is already on.
My example: I had 560k wage bill for next season and a budget of 600k. When I offered a developing rider a new contract for equal wage of what he is already on (40k) the game he sees his original contract to last for the next season as well as the new offer, thus limiting my budget afterwards. This limitation disappears though, when he declines or accepts the offer.
