Steam career backup

Hi guys,

As my laptop's hard drive is failing (doing the death clicks regularly), I'd like to backup my 3-year career before sending it to service. I tried searching the forum but couldn't find anything on the matter.

I'm using PCM 12 from Steam with the 1.3 DB (the newest at the time I started the career).

(Is this more related to the technical issues forum?)

I don't think that the Steam version changes the My Docs directory, so you should find it in My Docs/PCM12/Users/username/Database/Solo/DB of career.

So in this case I'd just copy this db file over to the new PCM install with the latest PCM database?

Activate steam cloud in preferences->downloads+cloud

Your files in username/pro cycling manager 2012 will be saved.

Just try running the game 1 time with this. Then quit and move that folder to another place and run the game. See if steam asks to download your files, allow, check your files, enjoy. As for custom things that are in your program files folder you have to do it a different way. For example, sending a email to yourself attaching those files. Having savegames in your email would be a ultimate backup Pfft as long as you have a roomy email like gmail thought savegames are light.

follow the path lluuiiggii gave you, copy it onto a memory stick then when you've got pcm reinstalled you can just copy it back and be able to continue playing your save

(Now it's time to take a few days away from PCM... Sad )
