Okay, so I want to re-colour some equipment, being specific I want to create the Pinarello ESP NC Bike, and I want to make a Giro ESP NC helmet as well.
I assume I can somehow use the uncoloured files of these two pieces of equipment that come with the pcmdaily/stanosbase db, but I dont particularly know what to do, and to what files.
I know this was possible in older versions of the game.
Also I remember noticing that helmets and frames autocoloured for National Champions shirts (Marc de Maar in specific) but I dont see it happening now that I'm playing the game again.

Ok honestly I got a big lost here
- Use the "uncoloured files" = auto color equipment or non-auto color equipment?
- "I know this was possible in older versions of the game." This what exactly?
- Helmets and frames autocolored for NCs? I don't know of such a thing. Marc de Maar indeed uses the Curacao-UHC-specific helmet (not a random autocolored one), but no specific bike (because there's none made), at least in the PCMDaily DB.

Thats alright,I asked a bunch of things.
I want to re-colour some equipment, because while it does the job for regular jerseys, it isn't enough for the NC. (Valverde's setup)
I guess I want direction on what to do with the non auto colorequipment so that I can colour itmyself. (and then insert it as custom_helmet1 f.e.) because obviously the auto colouring doesnt take into account the NC jerseys.

Well, I believe that the 'default' auto-colored equipment will give you even a better base to start off than the non-auto colored stuff. Specially concerning helmets, the default ones are colored the way they are (the _d files) so that people can use it as templates and color it themselves. Then you just need to remember to take out the auto-coloring stuff from the _s file after editing the frame. But more specifically, which part do you want direction on? Which files should you use as base (kinda described here), how to edit them in the image editing program (quite unlikely I guess based on your graphical work), or something else?

So using the _d as a base for the Giro Aeon helmet, I just colour it how I want it to be like?
And then to get rid of the auto-colour in the _s file I do what? Do I just get rid of the little black strips that reveal which parts to be coloured for the game?
And once I do that, is it good to use?
More clarification on "getting rid of autocolouring in _s file" would help.

KenL wrote a small guide on that:

Additionally, you could simply copy the _s file from a non-auto color equipment and rename it. I find this method easier
Btw, if you're going to recolor the Giro Aeon, take a look in the attached file. It should make it easier, because it's already got the parts that you should color in a different layer than the background (so you don't even need to select them; just use clipping masks)
Edit: attachment is weird, but it works. Just click the broken image and you'll download it (it's a .psd file).

Is Valverde attacking to get rid of the ghost next to him? (that dude's really white )
Btw, you might want to check out the accessories that Squire has made for some 2007 teams, including Caisse. Much better than the boring auto-color imo

Its actually Rojas And I think the other rider was Klaas Lodewyck.
Thanks, helpful luigi again. The NC jersey in the pic above is actually just from PCM08 so it will be nice to have a properly converted version of that, as well as the accessories, thanks

Ah, of course, just because Caisse comes back doesn't mean Valverde gets to be Spanish champion again, silly me
