January 26, 1990, the day when the enormous cycling talent was born in Zilina, Czechoslovakia (well not for long, because in 1993 the Slovakian republic was established). Peter was the youngest of three brothers and he also has an older sister.
His parents were sports orientated, so Peter found his way to local football club FK Zilina soon. History books are not saying why, but the fact is that Peter left the football pitch and started to ride the bike more often.
When Peter was seven years old, his parents registreed him along his brother Juraj to enter the local bike race in the forrest park. Both boys won their respective categories, in front of the coaches and managers of local cycling club, who were impressed of course and started to work with their talent. And it was really hard years, years of hard training and pure dedication of whole family to the sport.
Peter Sagan was revealed at the true all-around cyclist, very rare species among the cyclists. His career was accelerating fast and in 2007 after winning many races especially in terrain, he was awarded the best young cyclist in Slovakia.
But it was the year 2008, which became the sign of things to come. Val di Sole, Italy saw him winning the MTB junior world championships in XC, by almost two minutes!
But that was not his only success that year,as he finished second also at cyclocross world champs, junior category. Title of the best cyclist in Slovakia was just logical result of this incredible season. (despite great efforts of another young rider, Peter Velits, during the Tour de France).
This success brought him to the spotlight of road cycling scouts and he was soon invited for the road testing at Quickstep team. The rest of the story is like a fairy-tale...he failed the tests in Belgium and wanted to quit the idea of competing on the road, but the family supported him once again and Peter was given the second chance to be a stagiare at Liquigas-Doimo, while he was riding for Slovakian Dukla Trencin-Merida cycling team.
In 2009 Liquigas trainers and doctors was so impresed by his power outputs, that they immediately sign the proffesional contract with him and in 2010 he was given the chance to start at prestigious races Tour Down Under and Paris-Nice. What happened there, was like when bomb is being activated. In the end, you can see it in the first post.
When i would like to describe Peter in terms of cycling with four simple words, it would be : power, technique, hunger and passion.

Year 2012 is here and Peter is ready to face the new challenges, to fight the many battles. However future has not been written yet, so the fans of the Terminator can only hope that he will have same successful season as was 2011, or even better.
Will Peter knock on the hall of fame this year, will he be given chance to shine at the worlds biggest races including famous Grande Boucle? You can find answers on some of these question in this short season preview, the first part of season to be precise...
Team Liquigas-Cannondale has nice balanced squad coming to the season 2012 and should be competitive in all cycling areas of the PT. However the team cannot match such a high budget teams as Katusha, Sky or OPQS.
Besides Peter Sagan there is a top GC rider in the squad, in person of Vincenzo Nibali, who won the Vuelta in 2010. This year he should concentrate on the general classification of the biggest cycling race of all time, Tour de France. People around the team believe he is more than capable of top 5 finish there. His other season goals will be Tirreno-Adriatico in March and oldest one day race in the calendar, Liege-Bastogne-Liege.
Of course there is still another famous italian stage-racer in the team, the road-captain and experienced star Ivan Basso. In 2012 he has only two major goals, but nothing less than two grand tours Giro and Vuelta. Ivan is not going younger, but he is still able to make us proud in Italy and Spain.
Concerning the sprinters, Liquigas is pretty packed, with Viviani, Sabbatini, Oss and some more, of course not counting our young slovakian champion, who should be the main man also for the cobbles. There he should be supported by his super personal domestique Daniel Oss, together with Longo Borgini, Maragnoni and his older brother Juraj Sagan. To strenghten the classics squad, Liquigas signed young talented frenchman Aurelian Duval from the free agents pool prior to the season, on a one year contract.
Another rider worth mentioning is Eros Capecchi, great italian climbing talent, who will be TdF super domestique for Vincenzo, but he will certainly get a chance or two to lead the team at some point of the season.
Speaking about mountain support, this is one of the best covered areas in Liquigas, with names such as Szmyd, Caruso, Agnoli or Sarmiento.
As the home of many experienced riders, Liquigas also serves as the place for young promising riders to learn how to cope with the worlds biggest races and life of a proffesional cyclist. Team is very strong in bringing in cream of the crop from the junior categories. Who knows, maybe riders like Nerz, Moser, Ratto or Agostini can become the cycling legends.
Sagan's schedule for 2012, part 1
Team has decided that Peter Sagan will start his season in the following races and we made a racing plan for him till the end of April. If Peter will stay healthy and we hope he will, the plan should stay this way...

Thanks a lot for the support guys, it is nice to see that there is still room for interest concerning Sagan and Liquigas. This story should not be similar to the already running great stories of Mresuperstar and maxime86, mine will be strictly one rider story about the past, present and the future i hope.
@miggi 133: Thanks again for the graphics man. And also your nice story is my inspiration
@Teddy: Yes, it can, see my former short Lampre story (https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....d_id=19414) and GT challenges that never started But i will do my best to change it for this one, at least i have functional PC and stable internet now, that was complicating my work before.
@Mresuperstar: Yeah, all three GTs, i think no one had that idea before Nah, i think there will be only one common race during the 2012, i will post the plan later, i am not totally decided
@Valv: Nothing can be excluded for the future...
The story will start as soon as "final" Daily database is released,as story-writers in the few other stories, i will rather wait for it. Till that time i will add some info in parts, so far you can enjoy Peter's wins from his two first proffesional years, in pictures.

Thanks a lot again guys.
I updated the fourth post with custom career achievements, some of them are tough, some of them are unreal, but Peter is self-confident and sets himself only the biggest goals.
Also some of them are very long-range, this is for possibility to continue also with the next versions and bring them over.
