Right, so I downloaded my first database ever, the PCMdaily expansion pack for 1.2.0 even though I'm running 1.3.0. I read that it would be all right, but there are too many bugs for my taste.
So the question is, how can I uninstall it?
(This is probably a stupid question, but I'm pretty new, and if the question has already been answered somewhere else, sorry ) |

Cleanest is to uninstall the game, check the Documents/PCM and Program Files/PCM folders are gone and reinstall, then install the official patches.
You can just select a different DB, however, depending on the nature of the bugs you're experiencing.
It was eleven more than necessary.

If I uninstall the game, am I not going to have to re-enter the activation code? It's just, I only have 1 left, and I don't really want to waste it. |

If you want to reinstall the game, just click 'don't deactivate' or something like that when uninstalling, then you won't lose a key.
As for re-installing, if you still have the installing files, just run them. If not, you'll need to re-download them I guess.
Btw, mind if I ask: what bugs do you mean by 'many bugs'? Those that can be found here or other ones?

Well they're mostly the same.
First of all nearly half of the flags are just pink rectangles. I saw this when I went to pick the nationality for my manager in a new career.
Some riders don't have a nationality in career, so a pink rectangle comes up under their photo. It also mean't that when you went Search -> Country, there are loads of empty boxes, all corresponding to one rider, before the usual list.
And also, in Solo -> Stage, when selecting a team, the Pro Tour teams are still listed under Cya World Tour.
This is all I've found for now.
Now don't get me wrong, I think it's amazing the amount of work that has been put into it, and I'm probably the one causing the problems, but I do like things to be perfect. |

All of this bugs are caused by the very same reason: the incompatibility of the Local.cdb included in the release and Patch 1.3.0.0, after all the Local.cdb was edited based on a 1200 Patch Local.cdb.
Anyway, to fix, you should copy the Local.cdb from the 'Support and Comments' thread and paste it on My Docs/PCM12, overwriting the old file (and make it read only). If that doesn't work, try pasting the file also in Program Files/Cyanide/PCM12/Database.
Actually, the Search -> Country problem is indeed a bug, which will be fixed in the next version, but if you can't wait, try with the Local attached (instead of downloading the one in the Support and Comms thread).

Ok, I might try that, thanks. I also don't really enjoy the equipment side of it, the fact that you already own everything in career and that it all has full stars. And team Rapha Condor Sharp is missing, even though it was in the original database
But again, I'm very fussy.
So, just a question, will there one day be no more updates and a "final" expansion pack? |

Well, concerning the equipment, it has no effect in game, hence the stars are only "cosmetic". As for not buying equipment, teams in real life are payed to ride the brands they sign a contract with, so it's not realistic if you have to buy equipment in game.
As for Rapha Condor, as it's been said sometimes, the first version was a direct conversion from the PCM11 2012 DB, which had different races than Cyanide's Official Release in PCM12, and thus different teams. The next version is going to have more teams, races, etc.
Yes, there'll be a final Expansion Pack, and that'll be when Cyanide releases the latest patch, and confirms that. Then the next DB will be a 2013 one

Cool!
And and just another bug I forget: you cannot preview the equipment before a race, it just comes up as a pink square.
So how long does it usually take in general for the last patch to come out? |

Pink squares in equipment is also related to the Local.cdb.
Well, in PCM11 the last patch came in July 29th. In PCM09, July 9th. Which is one of the things that makes us think that the patch announced by them but not yet released - 1.3.0.5 - might pretty much be the final one. Btw, I jumped PCM10 because the game was so messed up to the point of having the last patch released in Oct 4th - and the patch caused more problems than fixed (which is why most people played with the penultimate patch)

I used the Local.cdb that you attached and I think all the problems are gone. On the other hand, there are no pictures at all for the equipment now, but I prefer that to the pink squares.
Out of interest what are the custom slots for the equipment for? |

Indeed, there are no equipment pictures, there's too much equipment for constantly-changing equipment (like teams equipment).
The custom equipments are so that people can add their own-equipment very easily to the game (by just replacing files, rather than needing to edit the DB). Check point 2 here for more info:

Ok, thanks a lot for all the answers.
Would you mind if I sent you a PM with another question unrelated to this thread, or are you fed up with my questions? |

In fact, I'd mind a bit, yes I'm probably not the only one who have the answers, so if you just posted them on the thread you might get the answers faster, or more complete, etc. If they are really unrelated to the thread, you could consider creating a new one, but you could also post them here.

Well it is unrelated, but I don't want to clutter the forum too much, so I'll ask her.
First of all, are there any rules or guidelines for posting in the stories section, if not, does anyone have any tips? |

Not really rules or guidelines, no. There's kinda a non-written rule to not start a story with a certain team if someone else is doing a story with the same team, but I believe that's because it'd be quite boring if we had 5 stories with the same team, for example
As for tips/introduction to story writing, Crommy's Guide should be useful, although he only posted the first 3 parts:

I've just tried, uninstalled the game without deactivating and all, but the 1.2.0 expansion pack is still ther. Did I forget to (un)tick something? |

I don't know exactly what your problem is.
If you uninstalled the game, then the expansion pack is gone for sure.
The database itself can be deleted in the pcm12 folder in my documents. |
