Thobe96's stages
thobe96
At first I will start with a Tdf variant.

I've just finished making the first stage, and I will present it in this thread!

Not sure if you've ever done stages before, but starting with a Tour is quite tough, I think it's better when people start with smaller races to learn and get experience (personal experience = I tried doing TdF stages right from the start, result they all suck Pfft). But good luck with the project if you'll keep it going Wink

The first stage of the TdF will be a prologue in the town of Dunkerque, It's 5.8 km long and has one time check at km 3.1.

The second stage is a flat stage and it's most likely to end in a bunch sprint. The peloton will leave Dunkerque, on their way to Saint Quentin they will walk into 1 climb of 4th categorie. The intermediate sprint will be in Arras.

Stage 5 will be a flat stage from Reims to Troyes. There are two climbs of 4th category in the beginning, so it won't make big differences. It's most likely to end in a bunch sprint.

Stage 6 will be another flat stage, but the finish is difficult, could be a bunch sprint, but attackers will also have a chance for the victory

Stage 7 will be the first Mountain Stage. The road from Nancy to La Planche des belles filles has 7 classified mountains. 2 of category 1, 2 of category 2, 1 of category 3 and 2 of category 4. Climbers will like this stage, sprinters have to hurry to be in time.

Did you already have the stages done or were all these last 4 done today? If yes that's an insanely fast pace, you're the Froome of stage makers Shock Pfft

thobe96
I did make all those 4 today..... And I watched tour de France Smile, I worked the whole day Smile

Stage 8 will be a flat stage, but has an uphill finish. From Mulhouse to Besancon, the riders face Ballon d'Alsace, 2nd category climb. The finish is on La Citadelle in Besancon, 4th category. it's 600 meters at 10,4%

Watch out when adding finishes in small climbs like this one. If the stage is considered flat and the climb has 600 meters, it won't have a considerable effect, and actually might have a negative one: the stage is flat, so the sprint starts at 3 km, and with the speed they'll reach the climb, when they slow down because of it there'll be like 200 m left; and secondly, the game has a stupid bug that when the riders are sprinting and there's a considerable slope change (I'd say >7% of difference) in a small distance, the first rider to hit the slope gets a huge speed boost, opens a gap to the others and, in this case, will win with ease. Unless it doesn't happen anymore in PCM12 but I'd be extremely surprised if that was the case.

So, 2 things: even if it's unrealistic, you should consider making the climb longer, so it has more effect on the sprint; try to make a smooth transition between flat and steep in the sprint, to try to avoid the sprint-bug (I see on the profile that the black part comes right after the flat, and then it eases up - for better gameplay it would be better if it was the contrary).

thobe96
I did ride the stage and could sprint from 1.5 km, and I won with Péraud in front of all the GC contenders, Evans 2nd, Schleck 3rd, and so on...
so I don't see the problemSmile

lluuiiggii
Ah, you said flat stage, I thought the sprint would start in 3 kms. Does the game classify it as flat or hilly, btw?
