Hello,
i always played with smallest teams in Football manager etc... It is a challenge for me to develop my team and to see it grow. In PCM it is impossible to get any decent results. Im not competitive in any case... Cause many top tour teams ride in smallest 1.1. races too.
So is there any good advice u caould give me?
Plus i was wondering about schedule.. for a small team it is impossible to be present in all those races sponsors want... So it kinda sucks.. |

Actually as you post here in PCM12 thread I guess you play this version.
And there is a new 3rd catagory for the smallest teams.
All .2 races can`t be raced by Pro Tour Teams and so it should be fine for small teams.
And ignore the sponsors. In PCM11 it had no influence. Not too sure about PCM12 but wouldn`t be surprised if it didn`t change. |

No.
1.1 are classics like Kuurne Brussel Kuurne where of course are PT Teams.
2.1 are stage races like Mallorca, Algarve, Andalucia and also PT teams probably.
But there are some 1.2 classics like Indrian Sprint classic like trofeo zssdi
or 2.2 races like Tour de Normanie or Tour of South Africa where aren`t any PT teams.
These x.2 races are just for Pro Continental teams and Continental teams and should have a much weaker startlist.
Also if you play with the RSM News DB for example, you will see that the smallest teams already have decent stats and you can have success with these. |

If you start a custom team most of the X.2 races may not be available to you because custom teams automaticaly becomes a continental pro team. For those teams only X.2 races from the same country is available. For a small custom team with not so good riders the competition might be tough in higher ranked races. Cyanide gave me an answer on their forum indicating that they might try to fix this in a future patch so that custom teams can be continental and not continental pro, and hence getting the opportunity to race X.2 races. |

I really do hope they'll do that, I'd love to make a conti team! |

You can always do it with an editor (and even if you don't prefer editing - I think that creating the custom team normally, and then only editing the division your team is in the editor, replacing it with a Cont team will work).

I don't have PCM2012, but from what I've gathered is you have to create a custom team in the Pro Continental division and then edit it (using an editor obviously) and change it to Continental. |

You could create the whole team with the editor (not do it in-game then change the division), in that case you'd start the career as a Cont team.
