O.k. I'm new and learning the ropes. Decided to begin with PCM 2011 before buying 2012.
I started a career with a Custom Team and by February I had 200K in losses, wich is a bit silly cause if you can't afford a payroll of 300K why do they let you. For a game without any tutorials It sucks not to have realistic goals. Cyanide should learn somethings from Football Manager. I feel like I'm doing a masters degree here.
Critics aside, the game is fun but I have some important questions before I proceed cause I'm going to have to start over again If I don't want to over do it with the editor.
What is a reasonable wage budget for a small custom team to start of? Is it possible to take a small custom team, big over the years with more budget and better cyclist? How many years, if so, did that take for you? What things should I edit to make that possible and realistic?
And a praise... this is a great community with great players for what I have been able to read so far... keep it up.
Also, when starting with a small team, you probably want to release your staff. Iirc, Cyanide didn't really think there might be people who want to play with small teams, so the goals and staff for those are non-sense (not sure if the staff part also applies for custom teams). If you have any losses of money in doing so, you can edit your money in DYN_manager -> finan_i_solde.
And yes, it is possible to take a small custom team and make it big. But it's gonna take some time, since sponsor budgets are fixed over their contract and you usually sign contracts for at least 2 seasons.
