I just downloaded the real-name DB, but no matter where I put the file, the game doesn't recognize it. To what map should I add the DB?

I just overwrited the original OfficialRelease.cdb file with the new one and that worked. Just make a backup of the original cdb before you overwrite incase something goes wrong. But for me it worked perfectly 
EDIT: and don't forget to restart your game after doing so

I didn't try yet, but doesn't it work to place a custom DB in Pro Cycling Manager 2012\Mod\Database? |

I don't have the full game yet but I seems like people are not sure where to put the database files?
So in which folders is it possible to put the database file?
After patch 1.0.1.1 = Pro Cycling Manager 2012\Mod\Database
Where else?
