Hey guys, A little while ago I asked for some help regarding adding variants to a save game.
Well, I got a save file with working variants from a member of this community, and copied the Dyn_Variant_Stage and Dyn_variant_date files to my DB as instructed, and then opened up the file in the fast editor, and sure enough there they were in the variants section.
I then presumed this would be the job done, but just to make sure, i duplicated my file, and simmed through to the next season to make sure it was all working correctly, only to find that still nothing changed.
Well i thought, this is a it odd, and went digging a bit deeper, to find that when I actually looked at the variants that the game had "added" most of the columns for all the stages were empty, the win factor was 999 for most stages, and the fk_Id relief, mountain, hills etc were all 0, including distance.
I presume this is the reason why my DB isn't working, but I was wondering if one of the DB experts could take a look and see if they can find a solution, so I've attached my DB in the thread.
Oh, and Gene_sz_ville, is "d" on all of the stages.
Thank you to any one who can help with this, It's a complete pain and rather limits my enjoyment of progression in game beyond the first season.

Wind factor being 999 is normal (means random direction for the wind), and gene_sz_ville being d is also normal. Could you attach the original save you got the variants from?

Well the problem is already in the 'original' file, where most of the info is set on 0 (distance, mountain, etc). But looking again, I don't think that this is the problem, since I've just checked an old PCM10 save and it was also like this (most things set on 0), and now checked a PCM11 save and it's also like this (and in the PCM11 I got to the second season and the variants changed normally). So not much idea what could it be now

Btw, what patch are you using? You can check it by going to Program Files/Cyanide/PCM10, right click PCM.exe -> Properties -> Details.

I'd think so
https://pcmdaily.com/infusions/pro_dow...hp?did=757
Patch 1.0.3.0 (Update from 1.0.0.0)
- Introduced back the stage variation system in career mode. Data are not included, but the system now allows modification from community packs
Funny, I thought in this after thinking on a joke: after you wrote your PCM 10 hated variants, I was going to say "but so does everyone's game, since variants system only came back to PCM10 after some patch.. oh wait"

Well, I'm just about to install it now
One question, last time i tried to add a patch, my game wouldn't load anything and i had to reinstall, any idea why this might have been?
(A good answer): I screwed up, and put it in the wrong place!

I'm just not sure if the Patch 1.0.3.0 or 1.0.4.1 are 'compatible' with on-going save games (if you can keep your save or if you need to start a new one).. would need confirmation from someone else regarding this.

Bugger. In a word, well, I guess i can try installing it, and if it doesn't work with my Exxon save, then i'll just have to carry on without the patch :/
