Hi Guys, I was looking at finding out if any stages/profiles built with the PCM2011 Stage Editor is compatiable with the New Editor in PCM2012. Also would anyone know if these Stages/Profiles built in PCM11 can be Editored in PCM12.
I suppose my question should be do i get back into stage building now and update with NEW Editor later or just what for the NEW game to come out with the Editor included.
Many thanks in Advance |

Nothing has been revealed yet as far as I know, apart from announcing that there will be a few small graphical additions to the Stage Editor.
Therefore I'm pretty sure they'll make it compatible with PCM11 stages too. Don't see any reason why they wouldn't unless they're changing the stage format once again, like from PCM09 to PCM10.
So, I'm pretty sure you can continue working on your PCM11 stages.

I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned that it will work like with PCM11: The stages are not 100 % compatible, but you can make them compatible by opening the ZCTS file with the PCM12 stage editor and make a new export. |

It's also been said that you'll be able to modify the profile in the profile view (which imo is the best new feature of the SE)

Thank you everyone for your helpful reply to my queries, the reason i asked is that due to personal situations i am stuck at home more and giving myself a few projects to work with will make life a lot more interesting for me.
So i will be beginning to build quite a few different profiles that i will post on a YouTube channel for people to check out and pass on constructive criticism in the comments section. An idea i am looking at is building profiles that will create an outcome that is closer to real life that differs from current in game play at the moment. What i mean by this is while you are able to add a climb along a profile with the exact gradient %, length and route i have found that the climbs do not produce a closer to real life outcome. So what i have done with previous profiles built for myself as an example is creating a climb 5km long with a gradient of 7.5% with a smoother flowing route instead of a real life climb of 3.5km at 5% with 5 tight switchbacks. The outcome was a closer to real world outcome with Ardennes climbers making the racing compared to ALL the sprinters making it over the real life climbing stats when in real life they wouldn't.
I will build the two profiles soon and upload the footage to the YouTube channel i will create.
Thank you again for your replies.

Exactly. While I'm not sure about changing the climb lengths, this just summs up the point I raised on my stages thread when posting a new version for the Vuelta stage = the less points/curves, the better gameplay. Obviously can't be applied to all climbs, but when possible it's good to do some modifications going in this way.
Btw, I guess you meant doing a 5km long climb with 5% instead of a 3.5 with 7.5%? Because if not then maybe you'd be making the climb too much harder (either make it steeper or longer imo, not both - preferably longer for gameplay).
