hi, is there any "standard" problem when this happens? Anything particular I should look at? I've attached the Pro Cycling Manager 2011.txt in case you would need it.

Did it ever work before? Does it always crash? Did you install the patch? Did you install a DB?
BTW: You did not attach anything sucessfully. |

Yes, it did work before (it's the pcmdaily DB with some modifications (teams, races, other starting date, riders editing, but as far as I know it has always worked), Unless there has recently (in the last 2 months) been a patch released I have not installed a patch since then.
Yesterday I installed another DB but I can say for certain that it would have been that DB because I haven't played PCM for quite some time (took a long time to edit everything in database + social stuff)
I don't seem to be able to attach the file, even though I put it in a rar file =/
Thanks for replying so far!

If you installed another DB, then that must be the problem.
The easiest way is to do this:
Un-install the game
Install the game
Install the patch
Install the DB (only install one DB, never install two)

Yes, that's what I'm doing right now.
I've installed & installed patch, installing pcmdaily V1 now, tomorrow I'm adding my stuff and modified DB and then I'll know for sure if the other DB was the problem.

Ok, I have done all that what I said, but now there's another problem. If I go to options and set the DB I want to use as current DB & standard DB and I close options and open it again, the game sets the officialrelease as current DB again.
Every time! I have now put the official release into another map so it's not in the Database map (neither in mydocs or the programfiles map) but it still manages to set it as the current DB! How can I solve this?

Why do you go back if you know that it resets itself? Just set it and forget about it.
If the file is not in the folder, then it will not selected, therefore you must have moved the wrong file. Other possibility to solve this problem is that you rename the files so that the desired DB is the first one. |

Well, I tried that, just choose a random name (baf) so it would end alphabetically before officialrelease, it crashes before I can choose a team, here are the last 10 lines of the pcm.txt file:
E\cym11buildmachine\Trunk\Dev\CM\Sources\GameCycling\Game\GameCycling.cpp(2239): [game] switching from state 106 to state 8 with action 17
ine\Trunk\Dev\CM\Sources\GameCycling\GameManager\GameManager_Abstract.cpp(0484): start init before team selected...
ildmachine\trunk\dev\cm\sources\gamecycling\gamemanager\inc\GameProcess.h(0018): starting process 'Find Leader Types'...
(0000):
(0000): +- DisplayDialBox(7) : Dialbox_ProgressBar pdtData.iOpenedDialboxIndex = -1
(0000): |
(0000): |
(0000): +- DisplayDialBox : Done; pdtData.iOpenedDialboxIndex = 0
(0000):
ildmachine\trunk\dev\cm\sources\gamecycling\gamemanager\inc\GameProcess.h(0018): starting process 'Young Riders'...
I have opened my database to check what's wrong with it and there are to possibilities I can think of:
- Either it crashes because I have added teams but have left the 'name manager'-blank
- Or (and this is what is starting to frustrate me and is most likely the problem) when I save my DYN_team to what it should be, export it to a database and re-open it the equipment marques for some teams have changed! Foir no reason really! They have gone for e.g. 136 to -120 (as you might guess, -199 leads to nothing)
If everything is alright now, my DB is attached, if someone would be kind enough to see if there's an explanation for this in it, here's the info that changes:
Team assigned to 136 go to -120, assigned to 135 go to -121, and this until 128 goes to -128. Other teams that I assigned (e.g. 127) stays 127!
Also I assigned Belgium to other equipment (137) and only that one changes to -119, what is going on??
Please help me, I've spent about 3 months not playing but editing this DB and I finally want to sit down and play it!
GrTz
Edit: BTW I use the full editor V4.0 for editing my DB's, in case you would be opening my DB with any editor and you are confused with all these numbers above I have uploaded the 2 tables (DYN_national_team & DYN_team) so that you could see what they are supposed to be.
DYN_national_team.xml - 18.3 KB
DYN_team.xml - 697.5 KB
timpiej attached the following file:

I did not read all your post but if you left a box empty, it will surely crash. Look at the other lines in the column and make sure to fill reasonable content.
If you don't know what you are doing then try this approach:
1. Make one change to the DB
2. Save the DB
3. Try if the game still can load it
4. Continue at step 1

Please, the thing that I am mostly concerned about is the last thing, that when I save my DB and re-open it I can see that the equipmentmarqes (frames aswell as helmets & wheels) have changed numbers, if I could get that solved, that would be great!

You're not allowed to go beyond 127 in the marques column in STA_equipment. Not sure if that's what causes your crash, though. |

Didn't go beyond 127 now, highest is 126, as you can see after editing:
DYN_team.xml - 670.7 KB
Although when I re-open my DB, I still get this:
DYN_team.xml - 697.5 KB
Any solutions? |

I checked the numbers and I really cannot find an explanation for this problem. But try to use another editor. If you have Excel installed and want to continue editing directly, then you could use my Excel editor. Else try my normal editor or the Fast editor. |

Yeah, I'll try that, I am editting my stuff with Excel, only importing & exporting with the Full editor, but I'll try your editors and get back to you! Thanks so far. |

If you are editing in excel anyway, then try this: https://pcmdaily.c...hp?did=798 |
