this is the first part of what i hope is going to be an on going series of challenges, in future i may be polling for ideas
Chasing Legends - Doing the Double
Mark Cavendish chasing the Tour-Vuelta Points Double
HTC-Highroad folded at the end of the 2011 season. One of the best teams in the history of cycling, lead by the best sprinter in the history of cycling, shocked the cycling world!!!
Everyone expected Mark to sign for the british outfit Sky ProCycling.
Mark Cavendish however joined a brand new outfit Ferrari-BA Cycling
This is an Italian-British cycling alliance.
2012
Mark dominated his first season with Ferrari-BA.
The Rainbow jersey only made him more deadly.
Cav's took 28 wins!!
He won the overall's in both Qatar and Oman. He came 3rd in Milan-San Remo. He took 3 stages in Paris-Nice. He won the British RR championship.
He won 4 stages, including the Champs Elysees, at the Tour. He won the Points jersey at the Tour. He finished 17th at the Tour.
He took 3 stages in the Tour of Britain. He rounded out the year with 2 wins in Beijing.
2013
Mark is solely focused on the Tour and Vuelta points competitions.
He will start the year late with the Tour de Suisse.
This will be followed by the TDF.
Mark will then tackle the Tour de Pologne and the Eneco Tour.
The Vuelta follows up.
Mark concludes his year with the Tour of Beijing
Main Rivals
Andre Greipel (lotto) - won MSR in 2012 and one of only 3 men to beat Mark in 2012, 2nd MSR 2013.
JJ Rojas (movistar) - the only thing that could stop him is the lack of sprint support
Tyler Farrar (garmin) - won MSR in 2013, but has focused on the early cobbles more than sprints
Matt Goss (greenedge) - beat Cavs in one sprint at the TDF in 2012
Marcel Kittel (1t4i) - fast finish, but lacks the support and experience
Phillipe Gilbert (BMC) - he doesnt stop winning the big races, looking good already
Damiano Cunego (lampre) - won the Vuelta points in 2012, could be a threat

Actually no...
I only played the sprint stages, and quick-simmed the rest.
He was designated leader, and only lost 3-5mins per mountain stage, and 2-3 per hill stage (ish).
He gained 2mins over most climbers on the cobbles to metz.
ill put up a screen shot of it, and cavs stats soon
