Hi all. I've started playing PCM again quite recently and I have a simple(?) question regarding requirements to play on a bit higher graphics. I have a ATI radeon 1600X graphics card which certainly is'nt the best out there. But anyways, I can basically only run the game with the lowest possible graphics settings to avoid crashes and hacky gameplay. I even have to turn down the resolution to one of the absolutely lowest possible ones. I know the graphics card ai'nt great, but surely it should be able to handle a bit higher settings considering it is compatible with 3.0 shaders and so on?
So I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas to what I can do to be able to improve my graphics settings, even if only a little bit. Oh, and I do have the latest driver installed as well as DirectX9.0c(From what I've understood, the newest one for XP). The processor is not top-notch either, a dual-core 2Ghz, but it feels like it is the graphics card that is the problem.
If anyone has any ideas, I'd be glad to hear them |

Turn off shaders 3.0 if you haven't already.
Also make sure to untick all the stuff on the right side which uses CPU or GPU and to tick all the stuff which would improve performance.
Then turn off all the image enhancing stuff.
Now, if it runs fine, then you could try to raise the resolution or some of the more needed graphical options. |

Played around with the settings a bit now and deactivated the stuff on the right side (except those that improve performance), really made a huge difference regarding what kind of settings I was able to use in resolution and the options on the left side. Thanks for the quick and very helpful advice, made my game just that much more enjoyable. |

That's certainly not just your PC, as I have the same problem.

I had this problem for a long time, happened only on Chrome though. So when I was going to read a page here in PCM Daily with several pictures I opened it on Firefox. I intended to re-install Chrome anytime and see if that worked, but then all of a sudden a few days ago it got back to normal again.

Well, I have the same issue right now (haven't had it before), so I'm thinking it's due to the april fools. Might work tomorrow |

I know.
There's a few issues with PCM.daily right now. Images being one of them, file uploads being another. Both will be fixed soon. Until then, no solution. |
