I'm sorting out a cdb for my own, but what I noticed is that when I look at e.g. the tour of romandie, that there are 3 versions of it in the pcmdaily 2012 db, these are the first stages or each version: 2012_top_romandie_01_daniano, top_romandie_00, 2010_top_romandie_01_cyanide.
But in the rules file (GP de Romandie.rules) there's only a mention of 1 and 2, so why doesn't the 3rd (2012_top_romandie_01_daniano in this case) count anymore?

Can't find such file (a 3rd variant for Romandie) here. But then it's either a small bug in not adding the 2012 Romandie as a variant or not adding it in the rules file.

No, that's exactly my point, in the variant folder there's only:
GP de Romandie.rules
GP de Romandie_01.descr
GP de Romandie_02.descr
But there's are three routes of the romandie in the CM_stages folder, so that would mean that in the first season you'd play the first version (the route starting with 2012_top_romandie_01_daniano) and in the following seasons it will switch between the other 2 (the ones starting with top_romandie_00 and 2010_top_romandie_01_cyanide)?
Or do I see it wrong?
Edit: probably I see things wrong, because it's the same case in the tirreno and giro (haven't looked further): in none of the descr. files the 2012 stages are mentioned =/

Yeah, that's what I said. Apparently the 2012 races aren't added as variants (have no .descr file, which is different to having a .descr file and not appearing in the rules file). Indeed they could have been added to be played not only in 2012 (especially in races which have got less variants, such as Romandie). (therefore yes, you see it right)

Alright, thanks man, we are very fortunated that people like you are willing to help us noobs ;-).
I have another question, it also involves races/stages.
In pcm 10 and 11 I've tried to make my own grand tour, The problem was that subscribing wasn't possible for me. Also when I had edited in the database that world tour teams were forced to take part in the race I would have been subscribed but when the race started all I got was a simulated first stage and a result of it, all the teams were there, except for mine!
Do you have any idea what could be the problem?
I made the race with both the cyanide editor and super editor.
Maybe I should tell you aswell that besides stages from other races I also used classics (like tour of flanders and liege-bastogne-liege) could that be the thing that gave problems? I thought because I could play the races/stages in the other races that it would be ok, But apparently not...
GrTz, and once again, thanks! |

Did you add the race in your career (in the savegame file) or in the 'normal' DB (and then started a career)? Don't have many other ideas. It's also possible that you did some kind of mistake in the DB file. As for using classic as stages, it shouldn't give any problem.

I think it was in the DB. What's best?
It would be stupid if the editor that came with the game, would make a mistake in it's own brand DB's. But then again, you never know with Cyanide

Best is 'not savegame' DB. You can add a race in the DB without problems as well, but it has to be done in the off season.
Well I can only think you've made some kind of mistake when adding the race, can't think of anything else. Do you still have the .cdb file? If yes, could you upload it here so I can take a look?

I will make the race in the near future, and if I do still have the same problem, I'll contact you. If that's ok with you of course.
Thanks in advance
