Thanks for that. Was particularly thinking Nibali with Evans possibly still getting in shape but both lost a big chunk of time today. |

Strange to see not many comments so far on this race..
Not the best start for Evans if he is to defend his title.

Gilbert looks totally not in shape... Did you see his face when he couldn't follow his team?

That's because TTT suck.
Seriously though, it looks like wind changed for the last teams, all of them horribly underperformed, and that can't be a concidence.

The wind changed after 3:30 p.m.," Sport Director Davide Bramati said. "The last 10 teams had headwind in the long final part to the finish. That's partially why they lost time." |

Still 17 seconds is quite much to lose only due to the wind... I think GreenEdge was simply the best today...
Possible winner for tommorow? Cav, Greipel, Bennati, Sagan?

Can't see past Cav mainly that Sky squad is totally focused on getting that win. I can see Sky doing 8 man leadout tomorrow honestly, although Lofkvist is set nicely for a good GC as he always does at Tirreno. The only race he does well, lately. Something like that, excluding Lofkvist and probably Hunt who will be used to help GE catch the break.
Hunt --> Stannard --> Hayman --> Eisel --> Sutton --> EBH --> Cav

GE pwned the TTT, no doubt, but the times of the last times were too horrible to not to have an explanation. No way they would have beaten GE, but some of then were worse than Colnago. Colnago. It was pretty damn obvious something was going on there.
Tomorrow me thinks Greipel. Cav (or rather his train) to fuck up somehow.

I suppose Griepel's 1 in 20 against Cav has to come somewhere. |

I was pondering that, I finally made EBH as my final choice purely because I don't think Sutton will ride Tour and I Sky said they will practice their lead outs for Tour during those smaller week races and thought that would be good opportunity to see how EBH can manage to lead Cav out. Sutton is a brilliant lead out though as shown at KBK, so who knows.
Hayman is out of equation for tomorrow, as he's reported to be sick, but recovering, stil lthat will put him out of leadout I think.

Yes a couple of quotes from a few DS's on Cycling News saying how the wind direction shifted for the last teams. Might liven things up down the line with some attacking rides needed to make back the time \o/ |

Amazing TTT from Greenedge, also Astana did good, Kreuziger is placed nicely and Horner too.

Am thinking Greipel as he and the team seem in great shape. Would love to be proved wrong by Sky and Cavendish however. |
