I have been playing PCM2011 for a few months on career mode, but am becoming frustrated by the bugs and problems. Crashing, finance/sponsorship, incorrect team and rider names etc.
The bugs have been mentioned many times, and I know there are various patches and downloads etc to fix them.
But it is very confusing. There are 3 x PCM daily 2011 downloads, a patch 1.0.4.4, a daily expansion pack, and various other options. Furthermore, the download instructions all seem to say they dont work without also installing another patch or download.
As a newbie who has not followed each patch and who is right at the start, how do I just fix the bugs, update the database and get upto date? I just downloaded PCM.daily's 2011 Pre-Beta to Public Beta Update, which took hours. But then I realise it says I need to have the Expansion Pack, and the instructions for this tell me to uninstall my game. I have already had to do this once, and I only have one more install left.
I feel like jacking the whole game in, I am spending hours each day trying to figure this out, and I cant find the help on the downloads comments. Please help a frustrated newbie download the updates/patches correctly, and in the right order.
check out the recommended downloads on the right of the screen (at the bottom of the latest downloads area).
This is the latest patch and the full 2011DB. If you want a 2012DB wait a few days untill the full one comes out, that should include any expasion packs necessary (Crue said by the end of the week)
When you uninstall, it should ask whether you want to cancel your activation, click no/cancel, this will mean you dont use up an activation
To simplify;
1. If you want 2011DB - download patch 1.0.4.4 and PCM.dailys Expansion Pack V1
2. If you want 2012DB - download patch 1.0.4.4, then wait for PCM.dailys 2012DB V1, which should include everything else you need, im lacking the details
The Expansion pack includes an installer so is simple to put into action, as does the patch

Indeed, there are some downloads now, seems quite disorganized but it isn't Here's a quick list of them:
PCM.daily's Expansion Pack V1 - 2011 DB, released shortly after the game (not quite shortly, but well) PCM.daily's 2012 DB: Pre-Beta - 2012 DB, the first minor version (Pre-Beta) PCM.daily's 2012 DB: Public Beta - a more updated version than the one above, and the last one where bugs can be spotted before the final version (which is not yet released - expected in a few days)
Here you can find the DL links for different methods of downloading the PCM Daily DB. Normally, if you have one expansion, when they release the next one there'll be two downloads: one containing everything, and another one containing just what has changed since the last one.
Normally, since you haven't got any PCM Daily Pack so far, you could download the torrent containing the full pack. If you wanted to make a use of your download of Pre-Beta to Public Beta, you'd need to download the Expansion Pack and then the Pre-Beta (which might take longer than downloading the full pack). So here's my advice: download the full pack (link just above).
Concerning Patches, you only need the 1.0.4.4. On this link you can download it and install it straight from 1.0.0.0 (game without patches).
As for re-installing the game, it's always better to have a clean installation of the game for the database. As Wiley said, when uninstalling you can not cancel your activation (thus not losing it).
Alternatively, you can wait a few more days and download the Full 2012 DB. But then again, there'll be a release containing the update from Public Beta to 2012 DB V1, so you would be saving time by starting download now
Oh, and I forgot: if you'll be playing with custom teams in a career, you also need the Fix for Patch 1.0.4.4, but don't worry, the download is less than 1 MB
I have downloaded 1.0.4.4 and the patch. I have replaced the PCM.dat file in C>Program Files>Cyanide>PCM2011 with the one I have unzipped
I have torrented the PCM Daily Expansion Pack into this folder as well.
It doesnt change anything at all.
The only databases that show up under options are custom.db and OfficialRelease.db
And when I load a career the problem with the sponsorship is still there, I load up a custom team in career and as soon as I get to Feb 1 I AM -£250,000 overrdrawn.
In my Program Files>Cyanide>PCM2011 folder, I have the following files:
