We greatly appreciate any feedback on the stats - especially on the lower ranked riders Wink

Boonen's sprint points are to low and Van Keirsbulck cobbles points are also to low
hey

I guess it's a good idea to upload the .cdb file somewhere as downloading the whole DB takes ages with my internet connection and many others will have the same problem.

I made some changes in most popular riders' stats, corrected form calendar so for example voeckler has +2 in July. In my opinion it's perfect for single stages or races. DB is attached.

Just a few stats I would change by Germans:

Grischa Janorschke - Plain should be higher than 59. Something like 68. Also sprint could be 72. He had lots of top 10`s last season with a 6th in Rund um Köln or 2nd Sparkassen Giro Bochum.

Gerald Ciolek - Sprint might be lowered to 75 or 76. Therefore his 73 hill seems fine for me.

Andre Greipel - Prologue might be a bit higher. 74 or so. He won the prologue in Turkey and another in 2010 and had some decent results so far.

Tino Thömel - Sprint maybe 70-71 as he won some sprints last year and seems to be a big talent who was stagiare at Geox but now back to NSP, where he will be one of their main sprinters

Rüdiger Selig - Maybe 72 or so in sprint. He convinced a lot when riding for Leopard as stagiare outsprinting some well known sprinters.

Kelderman's PRL should be higher (68-70?), I guess, because he won the prologue of the Tour de l'Ain.

I would definately add some points to Rick Zabel's Sprint stat and maybe up his potential to at least 5.
Surely he didn't compete on a high level so far, but he showed his power at the Worlds and some German junior races he won with ease.

I thought they said they weren't going to use it anymore for the 2011 version.

Why haven't you guys set Andy Schleck to minimum every month except July? Pfft

Andy does well in april classics, so I don't think it's necessary to lower his fitness for whole year except july.

It's kinda like that. -2/-1 every month except April (1) and July (2).

I just have given a try to my stats and all seems realistic, take a look at screenshot:

Froome attacks Cobo and Menchov on Angliru.

ruben
Rabobank

-Tom Slagter needs an update. He did some really impressive work for Mollema on some of the mountain stages. Yes his stats are almost the same as beginning 2011. Needs some up in climbing (73) + endurance/resistance (68/72) as well as recuperation (70/71).

BMC

-Timothy Roe and Yannick Eijssen both deserver better stats as promosing young climbers. Especially Eijssen. Also Phinney not really updated after 2011? You could really up his prologue ratings.

Euskaltel

-Mikel Landa deserves more. After his win in Burgos on Lagunas de Neila in front of Cobo and J-Rod... He's been put in the domestique role a lot as youngster but is in fact a very decent climber (73/74) and good on hills too (71/72).

FDJ-Bigmat

-Thibaut Pinot Deserves better mountain ratings after last year. One of the current biggest climbing prospects. THE biggest climbing talent in France. Yes, forget about Rolland, he had a nice Tour but Pinot is a lot younger and already almost as good. 76+ climbing at least. Good punch and sprint as well.

Garmin-Barracuda

-What did you do with Raymond Kreder. If he was that bad he would never been allowed on the Pro Team of Garmin... He's the improved version of his brother Michel. He is faster as sprinter and nearly as good as Michel in the hills. Alex Howes, a promising young climber with terrible stats. Last year 13th in Langkawi and 4th in Beacue. Good itt-er as well. Typical promosing GC racer in my opinion. Deserves far better than he has now (68/69 CL, 69/70 TT, 67/68 hill).
Finally Jacob Rather, a good sprinter who managed to win a sprint in the Volta a Portugal. He's faster even than Raymond Kreder who also came over from the Chipotle team. at least pot 5+ also.

Greenedge

-I get that you don't want to make Luke Durbridge an immediate superstar. But he certainly deserves better flat, endurance and resistance stats. His TT stats are already ok tho!

Lotto-Bellissol

-Again, a guy with 60 avg stats would never be allowed a contract. Brian Bulgac needs an upgrade. Also, more of a guy for hilly classics and even climbs then classics. More hills than climbs, but still decent. Get him around 67/68 average with specialty in hills and it would be ok. Dennis Vanendert is much like his older brothe. A hilly specialist who can handle himself on climbs. 11th in LBL u23, 4th in a stage in the Tour de Pyrenees. Not as talented as his brother but still pretty good on hills and climbs.

Movistar

-Haven't checked his potential (as I'm looking in career mode atm), but make sure Jesus Herrada is a bigger potential talent than his brother. Jesus Herrada will become big, even for spain standards. His stats are already really good tho, good job on that! Also don't be afraid to make Nairo Quintana a tad better than he is now. He is a real climbing gem.

Radioshack Nissan Trek

-Jesse Sergent and Nelson Oliveira deserve much better general stats (I mean flat/endurance/resistance). Especially Sergent proved that he is quite up too it already. Imo these guys should both average above 70+

Team Sky

-It's not without a reason Alex Dowsett scored so many CQ points last year. He never finished outside the top 15 in an ITT. Especially the short ones. And has the stamina and resistance to keep up with the pack and is pretty fast if he wants to be as well. Deserves an upgrade. Basically the same story as Sergent. After his exploits in Utah, Sergio Henao deserves an upgrade as well. Very explosive climber who made Leipheimer and co suffer big time. Also good on short hills.

Saxo Bank

-Cantwell is very very fast and a real crit racer. So, lots of speed but don't give him too much stamina and resistance. Set him up like Theo Bos from 2 years ago and you get the idea.

Vacansoleil DCM

-This guy Martijn Keizer came 2nd last year in the Dutch nat champs ITT. He deserves a far higher ITT rating therefore. Barry Markus is also more of a sprinter than an ITT specialist, even if he does well in prologues. Higher his sprint. (71/72 should do). Novikov is a huuuuuuuuuge GC racing talent. He DESTROYED Bardet in the Tour de Pays de Savoie with 3 minutes (!!!!) https://www.cqrank...ceid=20668 .. I cannot express strongly enough how good he is. Is at least already a 71+ in climbing.
Wout Poels albeit terribly inconsistent over 3 weeks, brilliant on his day. I think he deserves more than 75 CL/75HI as he is now. Don't forget his exploits on short steep hills and even the Angliru (2nd). He doesn't need good recuperation though, that's his weak point (for now).

Coldeportes

-I cannot stand for the stats of Esteban Chavez. The guy won the Tour l'Avenir. And recently on training camp in Italy he outclimbed the entire Coldeportes team. Including Duarte and co. I'd give him +72/73 climbing. High hills as well as he is explosive. And also a better TT-er than you'd think. As it stands now he is the worst rider on Coldeportes which isn't quite realistic.

Farnese Vini

-Yes, Balloni did have an off year in 2011. But he's not THAT bad. After all he finished 16th in the Tour of Portugal the year before, which is very commendable for such a young dude.

Rabobank Conti

-Mr Rick Zabel won the biggest German junior races and in general had a very strong year. Is at least a potential 6+ guy. But not quite like his father. He won races solo. Is stronger on hills, and wins sprints after hilly races. Needs a big upgrade. Ivar Slik is in my opinion the most promosing junior Dutch rider that came over to the U23 categories. This guy loves hills and is pretty fast too....In 2010 he won the dutch championship Pursuit AND scratch on the track, while the year before he was 2nd in the dutch champs MTB junior and good in many mtb races.. As well as being 3rd on the road. He is very allround. But his best points are the TT, hills and sprint.
Japser Bovenhuis needs a little more credit for his climbing and hills. Daan Olivier needs A LOT more credit for his climbing skills, certainly at his age. And finally Marc Goos seems to be an incredible talent, as recently he almost equaled Gesinks 7,1 w/kg in the vo2max test... (he scored 7 w/kg), and was generally already known for his results in hard, uphill races. A real stage-racer once more from dutch ground.
Olivier and Goos are definately the best stage-racers/climbers on Rabo CT.

Finally I some belgian CT teams which I believe need better stats but I'm not an expert in the Belgian cycling world so I'll leave that to the Belgians to correct Smile

Thanks a lot to everyone for their suggestions. Very helpful Smile

Keep them coming.

@Ruben: Feel free to comment on the CT teams too Wink

I would, but fact is I don't know a lot about these Belgians either so I can only make dark guesses. I wish Sisse, vdb and some guys from the dutch pcmbenelux forum were here. They know a lot more

@jos123 - First I actually thought of decreasing Boonen's sprint stat to 76, but kept it as he might go back to his old form this season and show more. He didn't show much in sprints last year except Gent - Wevegelem and already can contend in sprints with high flat stat and resistance.

As to Van Keirsbulck, he has a high potential set and will develop into a very good cobbler, so I don't think his stat will change

@roturn - Thanks for suggestions, I though of lowering Ciolek SPR to 76, but he did well in TdU and I just thought he might be back to his best this season. Will have to decide, and thanks for other suggestions. I upped Selig potential rather than setting his SPR and ACC 2 points higher.

@ruben - Thanks, obvious ones there I missed earlier. I agree with most of them. Jesus has its potential on 7 Wink With Quintana I thought of giving him better MO stat, but then he's got a great potential set there and will develop in two - three season into high 80's.

I upped Poels previous stat, but I agree with something around 77 in Hill and 76 in MO now. Didn't look into Conti teams in this update so thanks for that, will be fixed for next update Wink

Actually he did like he always did the last 3 seasons. Problems to enter the top 10. Mainly due to his bad positioning skills in especially the too early sprint.
The stage where he was 2nd had this hill, where many top sprinters lost contact. That`s why a 75 or 76 should be enough as he more and more became a classic rider instead of real sprinter as he also showed in the Canadian PT Races last season.

My 2c:

Gianluca Brambilla (Colnago CSF Inox) seems to be quite a talent. He was the last (?) breakaway rider to be caught on Zoncolan, and was generally quite active in the mountain breakaways in the Giro. Came 4th in stage 18, beating breakaway companions like Cataldo & Bakelants by minutes. Judging by his results on the Italian calendar, he is also very good on hills and packs a bit of a punch, I think. I suggest around 70/73 MO/HIL respectively, and something better than the current 58 SP. And of course a FTR increase.

Another Colnago rider, Stefano Pirazzi, really needs an update as well. He's been climbing really well in the Italian stage races, and finished 20th in the Nevegal MTT. He was also very aggressive in the Giro, so +FTR. I would set his MO to 73 or 74, as he was 3rd in Coppi e Bartali and generally good on the climbs last year.

Carlos Betancur doesn't write his name as Betancourt anymore. He should also have his potential upped, and his HIL stat drastically increased, as he won the Giro dell'Emilia (although it was from a breakaway, he was still one of the strongest in the race on the final climb). Also he was 9th in Lombardia. One of the big hilly classics talents out there, IMO.

Also, am I the only one really rating Guillame Bonnafond? As 26th overall in the Vuelta 2011, this young man should merit slightly better stats. He's also better than his 60TT. The stage racing stats of Mathieu Perget should also be slightly increased (esp. his poor REC stat), as he was 24th in the same Vuelta (although I seem to remember he was in loads of breakaways?).

I think Victor Cabedo of Euskaltel is supposed to be one of the next big things coming out of Spain, but I don't know much about him. I saw him win a great stage in Vuelta a Asturias while riding for Orbea last year, crushing his breakaway mates like Sutherland, J.I. Gutierrez & Ruben Perez. That was impressive. I can see he also finished in the front group of several Spanish one-day races (5th in Klasika Primavera), so he's perhaps better than 67 HIL, at least now, after hopefully progressing further. Maybe better potential as well?

It should be noted that he's more of a climber and that Lombardia is more of a mountain classic since the route change.
