I originally discovered the PCM series back in 2009, and whilst I enjoyed the game I found it to be rather to buggy for my liking.
I didn't buy 2010 as a quick google quickly established it was so full of bugs it should never have made it past out of beta testing.
So the question is how is the 2011 version?
From what I can tell its much more polished than 2010, but I am still reading of numerous issues that seem to require intervention with a DB editor.
I'm not against games having a few bugs at launch but am firmly of the opinion they should be ironed out after the first couple of patches.
PCM11 is basically a polished version of PCM10 - with a new few features which are somewhat buggy.
E.g., teams can now sign up new head sponsors (e.g. Saxo Bank withdraws, is replaced by Danske Bank), and there's a few bugs associated with this. The team initials aren't switched, and the same goes for the colour code which defines the colour of the team equipment.
Both somewhat annoying, but not "fatal"
Either way, I'd say that using an editor to correct things in your career is still adviced, but not necessarily needed.

i find that quite handy, as it allows me to see what the teams are (ie HTC as the sprint-team, despite being called WarnerBrothers [as they were in a career of mine])

What, that column in DYN_sponsor is useless?
And to not be so off topic, I can tell you the gameplay is very good. Biggest 'bug' in PCM 10 was the completely messed up gameplay, but I find it great on PCM 11 (better than PCM 09 imo).
Ive been back playing PCM11 alot since christmas after rarely been on it beforehand, I can see what I have missed, the game is the best since the 2008 version, you can set your sprint train up fine but still not win the stage.
Ive not been past January of the 2nd season so don't know anything on the sponsor changes
Hoping to have a long career with my custom Eurovision team.
I enjoyed PCM10 hugely and took a while to get into PCM11. The new orange colour scheme is truly disgusting, but I'm getting used to that.
One bug that does annoy me is the one that just caught me again though - that of giving the same time to the peleton as a rider who broke away well outside of the 3km mark. Jens Voigt put in a huge effort for me to break off the front of the peleton with 5km to go in my latest stage, took 2nd place, but was given the same time as the peleton who rolled in some 30 seconds later. That kind of gap could make a huge difference in a race like Paris-Nice where there were no real gaps before the stage

That has nothing to do with any 3km thing (since the game doesn't have any 3km thing, so if you crash after 3 kms left you won't get the same time as the group you were in).
It also isn't really a bug of the game, since you can manually modify it. Each stage has a setting called 'time gap', which defines how much (in game) time is needed between the last rider of the group X and the first rider of the group X-1 (for example, E1 and E2, or E2 and P.. etc). The Daily DB already makes it a bit better than what comes with the game (for example, in flat stages in the original DB you need 20 in-game seconds for the gap to count). In the Daily DB the normal values are 15 for flat stage, 10 for hilly and 7 for MTF, but obviously everything has its exceptions. It mainly depends on the finish of the stage (finishes up a hill, a mountain stage finishing on the flat)..
So well, if you attack in a stage where an attack by a favorite isn't really expected (for example a flat stage which has a tiny hill near the end), you might get the time gaps not existing once in a while.
