I was wondering why the PCM.Daily 2011 expansion pack is almost as big as the game itself?
The game is a 4.1 gig down load and the expansion / database is 3.7 gigs.
I just bought the 2011 game and it took 8 hours to down load on my slow DSL. This attempt failed so I tried a different down load manager and it took another 8 hours. Luckily that attempt was successful.
Now I'm down loading the PCM pack because lets be honest, playing the game with the stock Cyanide set up is a total waste. (I learned that from my game time with the 2009 version).
Is this an entire re-write of the game itself? Or is there so much new graphics and data that the files are almost as big as the entire game itself.
Just wondering, thanks...
(Yeah, I know I need a faster connection but can't afford it. Its also why I have delayed buying the new version THIS IS PAINFUL! Arrgh...)
Lance Armstrong for President! Why not have an admitted doper and cheat as president? He would fit in perfectly with all of the lying politicians.

The database has a much larger amount of graphic files for jerseys, logos, etc. aswell as more riders and team. You will also find a larg number of added races too. |

Thanks Cactus, I figured that was the case.
I wouldn't mind but 24 hours of downloading is cutting in to my race time. lol

What's taking up space is not team shirts and logos, but stages. The original game doesn't come with a whole lot of stages (316 different) - the Expansion Pack comes with 546 new stages, each of which is between 1-18 MB in size.
Without the stages, the size of the pack (unextracted) is 1.4 GB - with the stages, it's 4.8 GB. |
