Not the whole world is covered by these files.
As far as I know there are two dem pack but even then you cannot make stages all around the world.
You could try the stage editor with a french route first, to see if you really have a problem with the dem files.
In fact I just saw three: https://pcmdaily.c...p?catid=61

I guess you should read a tutorial but I never used the editor so I cannot help you there.
Either search this or the official forum for a tutorial or wait for other replies.
BTW: Why did you post this in the technical forum? Do you know that there is a in stage forum: https://pcmdaily.c...rum_id=121
Official forum would be:

When you select 'Alps', that doesn't mean you'll get the terrain of the alps (even because the stage map is too small to fit the whole alps). That defines something else which I'm not sure what is, but I think it's related to terrain.
Anyway to 'select' an area to build a stage, you need a .gpx file. You can do on sites such as openrunner.com or bikeroutetoaster.com. You create or stage there, save as .gpx file and then load that into the editor. Then the terrain created will be from your stage area.
It's quite hard to explain, but anyway, here's the basics tutorial in English:
https://pcmdaily.c...rowstart=0
However it talks only about the basics. More advanced info can be found in this French tutorial (takes some time to load):
https://ftp.cyanid...ign_VF.pdf
Finally, when you have doubts, you can search for them or ask them in the Stagemaking discussion thread:
https://pcmdaily.c...rowstart=0
That's pretty much it, good luck!

hi
thanks for the help, yesterday I did an .gpx file on outdooractive.com and then i opened it on stage editor and it worked. But one question to the gpx.file: does it save the whole area(topographic) where i built the stage or does it save just the elevations of my road that i created?
