I've already tried many times to create l'Alpe in the stage editor but i never succeed. To many error's and just not the correct slopes. Flying borders etc.
I think i'm not the only one with problems with creating good slopes. But i have already seen some stagemakers succeeding in making l'Alpe and other climbs.
So here's what i think: Isn't it a good idea to upload the stage editor file with the best Alpe d'Huez that's made in the editor. So other people who have trouble with it could just download the file, open it and make their own stage with l'Alpe as final climb. Doesn't that make thing a lot easier?
What do you guys think?

That is difficult to do because someone wants to make the race coming from south and others wants it to come from north and then the stage editor is too small. |

but if the stagemaker makes a big race around the alpe 250km's orso and only makes the climbe of the alpe than you should have a large area to work with. It's difficult indeed.

As far as I remember, there was a so-called "Kit-Alpino" made by Emmea: a stage-file with several climbs around this area. To be found on the Italian PCM-community (don't remember the correct URL right now, sorry).. At least, for PCM10 (but should be the same for PCM11, obviously).
EDIT: I found the link I checked it.. if you're into cycling, you will find out about where to find the different climbs

Heard of the export function? Use it to import and export climbs from one .zcts to another.
And Alpe d'Huez is not that difficult, its the expectation you have to the climb that's difficult, because its such a iconic climb. I've made it once and it wasn't any harder than other climbs with many turns.

Than i need a .zcts of a stage with l'alpe wich i haven't. Do you think stagemakers will make their .zcts downloadable?
Did you succeed in getting 21 turns? that's amazing.

I have tried to export a climb (tourmalet) from one stage to another and the result was no good.
Does anyone know how to export a route to another .zcts file with success?
sam1196: Yes. I have made various stages with the same climbs and changing the route that surrounds them. |

You don't need the .zcts. A stagemaker remove everything except the climb and export it into a .xml file. tsmosha linked to a zcts with Alpe dHuez.
I did succeed making a Alpe d'Huez with about the same lenght and gradient with many turns as in real life. Thats what you aim for, not getting exactly 21 turns.

There's my problem i always trie aiming for 21 turns. But it's nearly impossible since the turns are so close to eachother.

I have do this: In a .zcts file I have removed everything except the tourmalet and then exported it to a xml file. Then in a new .zcts file I have imported the file and the tourmalet appears far from his original location and when I tried to move the complete climb to it's original place, the slopes had changed.
How could I move the complete climb without losing the slopes? |

sam1196: You should never try to make every turn as in real life. PCM is 1:10 scale or something, so you cant have every turn.
Camacho: Uncheck "Snap objects to landscape" and move the climb to the correct location.

I understand that but i find it very hard to have L'alpe with less than 21 turns. As you say the slopes and lenght are the most important in PCM.

As mentioned in earlier posts, you shouldn't even try to create 21 turns. That's more or less impossible if you want the correct length and slope.

And if you managed it, it wouldn't be much fun playing with one turn each 0.6 kms.
