Hi, I am starting a custom team beased on Australians.
I know it's been done many times before and is not very original .. but now with GreenEdge doing it I want to do it better than they do.
I don't want to create a story as I don't have time to collect all the screenshots etc.
I wanted to start a discussion thread for this type of team - for people to share their experience starting Australian teams.
Who do use as your GC leaders? Cadel Evans is obvious but who else.
Who would you use for the Spring Classics - Haussler, Goss?
Is it too limiting to only use Aussies? I've added a couple of New Zealanders for charity purposes.
Or is an Australian team using all the best Aussie riders too strong/unrealistic? |

Usually I don't pick all the strongest riders, when I start a custom team. It would be far too strong with all the best aussie riders. And also, you would have no one to aim for, as you already have the best riders.
But in general, it is important to play the game the way you like

So far I've only ever played the game using Rabobank.
My first experience having set up the Aussie team is that Rabobank is a much better rounded team with obvious choices for leader based on the type of race.
AN australian team doesn't have a good number of climbers with potential to back up Cadel in the Grand Tours. |

Maybe you misunderstood. MrDemus was talking about further seasons. If you have all good Australian riders in your team already, then you cannot use the transfer market in the game. |

Nah ... me and MrDemus were typing at the same time.
Yeah I see the point that there's no big transfers to look forward to.
Anyway, I think my preference for the future with this team would be to bring through good Australian talent surrounded by the more experienced riders. |

Normally I check the time of the posts but I just thought you would have edited your initial post if you would not answer to him. (Just a small hint)
Now back to your topic:
Searching for talents is also a good idea. But are the australian youngsters worth scouting? I never scouted there and maybe you will have problems finding promising riders at all.
You can open your save with an editor to check how many young riders have been created and how high their potential and max stats are to get an impression, if you did not scout there in the game already. |

If he plays with the PCMDaily DB, then Australia is pretty good. I have tweaked the potential potential (!) of all countries, and made Australia a quite big nation in that department.
