Do you mean the break away? Only the AI riders can ask your rider to work in the break away. It would not make much sense to ask AI riders anyway, because computers tend to behave on given pattern.

I think he means chasing a break in the pack.

I experience most of the time that when the pace in the pack is slow and i put some riders to up the pace, some other teams automatically come to help me. I don't think it is possible to ask for help though.

It should be possible to call for help in the breaks. They ask me to help, but the minute I start to short relay everyone else drops off. It's stupid.

Not quite. In the first part of the stage they usually relay on a slow effort, between 45 and 55. If you put your rider in relay on 65 effort, than he will work alone. Try and set his effort accordingly to the others breakaway companions.
