I know that it did not have any impact on preformance in 2010 but how is it in 2011? |

wasn't the reason it didn't have any inpact on the race, because the database makers choose it that way? the stats were all the same, they aren't in the standard database.. |

Actually I remember that in previous games the equipment did have an impact. At least when I simulated a race. If I choose the wrong gear for a TT for example, all of my riders finished in the bottom half table. Even Cancellara could not compete with the best of them.
Hovever, I played the last 2 games with the PCMdaily database, where all the equipment was equal. |

It doesn't have any impact in the original database either. Not in PCM10, not in PCM11.
Not sure about simulated races, though. |

This is what the 2011 manual says (page 28 English version):
"You can purchase all brands and models of equipment in the game. Each acquisition has a cost, but it will improve performance"

Exactly the same sentence is written on the English manual for PCM 10, last line of page 27.
I think they barely make changes in the manual from game to game (given I've also seen other things non-sense in the manual, such as the existance of a 'blue bar' to represent Resistence in 3D - it existed up to PCM 08 though).

Who cares about the manual?
Seriously, though, it's simply not true. Perhaps in simulation - I never bothered testing it - but not in 3D. |
