Just a quick question to put out there to everyone. Does any1 know how to get the announcer to say the rider you created name. If you don't understand what i am getting at maybe this will help. At the end of the stage/race or what ever it says something like "Another solo victory for Mark Cavendish." I only use that as an example because that is the only quote in the game i can think of at the moment. But anyways if you could help me that would be great.

DYN_cyclist -> gene_sz_soundname.
You can find the list of possible names in Program Files\Cyanide\Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2010\Sound\Comment\eng\Names |

So you cant create a name for the announcer to say during the race?? You only get to pick a name from the name list you can't create a new name? |

Open up the folder and you will see the different kinds of commentary - there are several for attacks, one for crashes etc. If you make some, spoken by you, and add them there with similar names, it'll work. |

Okay when you say "open up the folder" i am confused about what you are talking about. And when editing your not using the original that comes with the game are you? If i have to guess i would say your using fast editor is that correct?? And would like some more guidance on how to go about doing this process of making a commentary name |

It's not easy as you have to do the commentary yourself. When you've done that, come back.
I've only talked about one folder in my posts. Read and you will find

I am sure you could use any basic sound recording programme, or something like GarageBand if you have a Mac. My Mac has a pretty good in-built mic which I use for basic recordings on GarageBand.
Perhaps the more important question is what format do you need save the sound files as e.g. as MP3 etc? |

A good free software is audacity to use to record yourself, but as previously stated the format is the most important thing though i'm sure there are loads of converters out there |

I assume into here : Program Files\Cyanide\Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2010\Sound\Comment\eng\Names , but that is only from what cruetrue wrote so don't quote me on it if i'm wrong

yes i finally found those files it took me a bit but i found it. Okay i did exactly what you said but after Eng part it take me to a weird screen with a bunch of other folders. I scrolled through some of those and I saw the one with NAMES. I opened it and there was noting in there. Should there have been something in there? And when i finish my recording i put my recordings in the folder NAMES like you said right? (Just making sure) |

If you can't see any file then it should impossible for you to hear names in the game, so there are files there.
As for making sure the recording goes to the right rider, CT said it in his first post: DYN_cyclist -> gene_sz_soundname.
The word that is written on that gene corresponds to the name of the files, f.e.: if gene_sz_soundname is 'CreatedRider', the files should be:
CreatedRider_Attaque-01
CreatedRider_Chute-01
And so on.
Btw, don't forget the files should be in .ogg.

Okay i am sorry if i am sounding noobish and stuff but i am trying to learn and understand somethings. So there is no special program i need i just need to make sure that i save my recording correctly and in the right spot. Then when i run the game it will register that saved file/recording? |

Okay i think i understand. But to make sure.... So in reality i really don't need to name my recording any specific way i just to make sure that i go back to my data base editor(fast editor) that my recording name file matches the same as to what i put in the rider sound name column??? |

Which one do you think is easier Audacity or that other one you suggested. I am probably not going to be able to get to it tell tomorrow. I think what i need to do is just go for it and play around with it. That is what i did when i was having troubles with getting my created riders in the game. Thanks for all of your help i am starting to get it. I think if i just play around with it for a bit i will get it. Anyways i will get back to you tomorrow about how i am doing on it. |
