Change buttons
lluuiiggii
Well, this might be an easy question but I'm struggling to find the answer so better ask here.

I've installed a DB and it has automatically changed backgrounds, and other things, such as the buttons.

But these buttons do not look good, I prefer the old ones. Where can I change it? I've been looking in 'customisation of colours' but everything is set to 'original' and still no success.

Thanks in advance.

Try reinstalling the game, but to some randomly named folder so that it wont overwrite your "good copy of the game" . Then if it asks about activations just chose the one that sounds the best (sorry never done this) and then go to GUI and copy most stuff over that don't have to do with the actual teams, like teamshirts, or equipment. ( It should make sense if you look at the names of the file and stuff. I just recently did it with PCM 08.)

Yeah, I took a look at that and even delete the files that were installed in that with the DB.

The problem is that when I deleted those files all buttons would be 'pink', like the problem with missing flags.

So, indeed, the buttons are there, but the configuration is somewhere in the game, and this is what I'm looking for without success.

You need to re-install the game.

Then install the patch and make a copy of the whole pcm folder (that one in program files).

Then install the DB again.

Now you can copy all the GUI stuff from the copied folder to the actual game folder. (If it asks you to overwrite, select yes to all)

Searching more, I found out that the current interface is the Interface Update Pack 2010 that can be downloaded in the Downloads section of this site.

There is no way to uninstall it or anything like that? Because I don't want to re-install the game, which even if selected a random folder would still mess with My Docs and then install all DBs again. Or maybe I misunderstood and don't need to install all DBs?

Anyway, there is really no way if not reinstalling the game? Thanks.

Two important notes first:
Re-installing the game will not change anything in "My documents".
You cannot install the game twice / into a random folder.

Normally you need a separate game installation for each DB. If you have done that, then you could copy the GUI stuff from one of the DB installations. If you have not done that, that would be an additional reason to install the game again.

Once again:
1. Uninstall the game
2. Install the game
3. Install that patch
4. Make a copy of the pcm folder in "Program files" for each DB you want to install. (If you want to play 2 different DB, then you would need 3 folders, the original one, and two copies.)
5. Install the DBs into one of the folder copies.

I assume that you have now 3 folders: [PCM], "Copy of [PCM]", "Copy (2) of [PCM]" (or similar, depends on your computer and language.) [PCM] would be the name of the installation folder.
Now if you want to play DB 1: Rename the original folder to "Original [PCM]", then rename "Copy (2) of [PCM]" to [PCM].
Then if you want to play DB 2: Rename [PCM] to [PCM] DB1, then rename "Copy (2) of [PCM]" to [PCM].
I hope you got the picture.

If you really don't want to re-install, then you could install the game on a different computer and copy the GUI stuff via USB-Stick, LAN or other means to your game computer. Another possibility would be to ask somebody to upload all the GUI files of a clean game installation. (But don't ask me, although I have a clean game installation)

Yeah, I understand what you said (at least I think I do), but anyway, I have only one PCM folder in Program Files.

I have basically three DBs installed: pcmdaily ExpPackV2.1 (09,10 & track), Vintage_03 and FCM_v1.1.

All three in only one folder, and I've never experienced any problem because of that. Actually I didn't even know I should have one folder for each DB.

Well, as long as I see no problems I believe it's ok to have only one folder. Thanks for telling that anyway =)

And about the interface, I believe I'll have to live with that. It's not a big problem, it's just that if there was a simple way to solve it I'd prefer the original one. Also, not sure if changing the GUI stuff would solve, because even if I deleted the GUI files that came with the last DB (FCM one) the interface/buttons would be the same, but like with 'pink buttons', in other words, missing buttons. So it seems to be configured somewhere in the game.

Thanks for the attention.

The interface is more than only buttons, so you would have to replace more then only the buttons.
Also I told you two more ways to get it fixed, so it is up to you.
