Team SpiderTech p/b C10
valverde321
img823.imageshack.us/img823/1462/spiderbanner.png

Hello all. It might have been obvious I was going to choose this team for another story, but to others it may not have been. Who knows maybe this time I will have a successful story after the last 2 did not end as I wanted.

The reason I picked this team is because I love racing with smaller teams, and SpiderTech is from Canada which makes it a must for me. I hope I have as many followers as last time and I hope I can bring good results for the team.

About the Team:
Team SpiderTech powered by C10 is Canada’s first Continental Professional Cycling Team. Founded by Steve Bauer in 2007, the team has earned a Professional Continental license from the Union Cycliste Internationale(UCI). The 19 rider team of 16 Canadians and 2 Americans and 1 MExican is sponsored by SpiderTech and a partnership of Canadian corporations known as C10 including BlackBerry, NRS Brakes, Pinetree Capital, Planet Energy and Saputo.

The ToC has inspired me to play as SpiderTech now, but dont worry, David Veilleux isn't done, as I'll try and run both stories. Hope thats "alright" for people.

This 3 day stage race is the first of the season for SpiderTech as we embark on a new journey this season racing more of a European calendar than ever before. This time last year we weren't even racing yet, and still back home preparing for our races in Uruguay.

Like I said the race is 3 stages long, with the first day finishing with a small climb and the final two stages ending in flat terrain, suitable for Gilbert

I'd say McCarty will be the leader, as he is our strongest all around rider, but the final two stages we will for sure work for Gilbert who could get a good result in the early season. It would also be nice to see what De Luna can do on the climbs, since we think one day he can become a decent climber.

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/Flags%20V2/it.png Danilo Di Luca | Katusha

He is by far the favourite for the race as Di Luca is the best climber in the race. He also has a very quick attack on climbs like this and it suits him very well. Also since he's riding in his home country he should have more motivation than most other riders, which is why I give him the overall favourite status before it starts.

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/Flags%20V2/fr.png Christophe Le Mevel | Garmin Cervelo

Le Mevel is a very under-rated climber and is also a very quick climber like Di Luca. I wouldn't rank him quite as high as Di Luca in my list of top climbers but I think on short climbs he can do very well. It is also the early season so he might not be in shape for this race.

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/Flags%20V2/it.png Alessandro Petacchi | Lampre

You may be wondering why I think Ale Jet has a chance to win this race, but he has recently started working on his climbing ability so he can survive the mountains of Italy. If he can stay in the same group as the other race favourites on stage 1 he will most certainly get the best results of all other riders in the next two.
