So I'm having this really annoying issue. I've changed nothing: DB, graphics setting, but from night to day the game simply started to, in 3D mode, 'stop' everything for 1 or 2 seconds every 7~15 seconds. So it goes smooth - stop - smooth - stop. It freezes for a second or two. And in the long run, it's really annoying! It's happening even on replays, any 3D mode. What should I do? Thanks in advance.

This happens to me in some stages like the California Tour.
Might be a problem with the stage.
Don`t think you have it in every stage, but maybe in all stages of this race. |

Yeah, just played Champs Elysees stage without this problem.
This problem first appeared in my career in Vuelta Asturias, then I played single stage mode to see if it would continue and it did - I was playing stage 3 of AToC. Now playing another stage in single stage mode this didn't happen, thanks. =]

I will probably rebuild the California Tour as soon as the real 2011 route is published. Then it won`t happen. Is quite annoying as I have to ride this race year for year. |

I get the same problem but not on every stage, I thought it was my laptop getting too hot as I had the game on for over 7 hours.

Could be a memory problem, i think it stops when it's rendering the map, i think this because in the busy graphics stages like mountain this happens to me alot. You can try and increase memory hardware which for most isnt an option right now, or increase virtual memory..

Personally i keep the graphics low, crowd is ok to set high, this doesn't seem to create pauses. Keep shadows as low as possible and turn of monuments. The new feature to change stength of colour (4 options i think) should be on NO (top left option). Make sure all other programs are off, i found playing music with Windows Media Player while playing caused PCM to run slower, Winamp seems to work ok, again this will be due to memory. Turn off any virus software may help but unlikely. But you probably know all this.

Yeah Shadows are the #1 thing that slows down the game.

I tried it with minimum graphic settings once and on some stages it`s still stopping.
So I think it`s a stage problem as it`s always the same stages.
As I play with max details and shadows perfectly on 95% of all stages but not able to play with lowest on the other 5%, this might be the problem. |

You could try to tilt the camera so that it looks more down on the riders. Generally, the further you see, the more work for the game. |

I know. Already tried it.
Luckily for me it`s just the Amgen Tour of California and one classic, don`t remember the name. |
