As the title already says, my first story will be about the Thüringer Energie Cycling Team. Since the continental team had a great succuess, E.on decided to spend money on a further team, this time racing in the highest division of cycling.
Other partners are:
The team will ride on Trek Madone frames, with Shimano Di2 gear.
Lightweight provides the team with their Obermayer-wheelsets, the lighest wheels in the peloton.
Oakley will support the team with best sunglasses available. They have the aim to increase the profit in Germany by sponsoring the only German top team.
During the next days the first riders who signed contracts with us will be present. The focus will be on German riders, but who will say "no" if a good rider with another nationality wants to sign?
(As well as redlion1987 i will only do the team presentation until the 2011DB is released. I won´have time to do the race reports in the next 2 weeks anyway.) |

Good luck, but basically this is just to claim the team before anyone else, I think. Maybe I should do that.

It´s not a little German team, it will be part of the WorldTour. The existing team will be a farm team, similar to Trek-Livestrong U23

It´s time to name the first riders who will be part of the team:
Marcus Eichler
He will be a good helper for flat stages and in cobbled races.
Alexander Gottfried
With his skills in both, sprinting and hills, he will mainly work for the team but will also have a chance to be leader in smaller races like "Rund um Köln".
Marcel Kittel
A promising young rider with good TT and sprint abilities.
Paul Voss
Another rider who will work for the team and is good enough to make some good results as escapee (if he doesn´t crash)

It´s time to reveal the next riders.
-David Zabriskie, great rider for TTs and smaller stage races
-Björn Schröder, another helper for the team
-Christian Knees, as German champion a must but he has the potential to win races
-Marcel Sieberg, a good sprinter a luxary helper
-Carlos Barredo, a top-allrounder who hopefully will win not only small races
-Thomas Rohregger, he will support the team on hilly/mountain races
The team leaders will be annonced later this month

Sounds like a strong squad with Knees, Zabriskie, Barredo and Rohregger just being "helpers".
So a great sprinter and 1-2 leaders for the hills/mountains and your squad should be fine for top 10 in ProTourRanking. |

I do not have a top rider like Schleck or Gesink so i could spend more money on rider like Knees etc. "Helper" is maybe not the right word, but they will work for the leader in important races
