Omg.. It actually happened to me too (ellisonde winning the stage and horner winning the vuelta) PCM is more realistic than we think |

Not a career thing, but this thread seems to be the most appropriate: I set PCM to run the Vuelta's Angliru stage to test something. Then I minimized the game and sorta forgot about it. I clicked back just in time to see, in the post-race highlights, Kenny Elissonde raising his arms to win the stage.
It gets worse: I was playing in stage race mode, or actually, simulating in stage race mode, since I'd simulated all 19 stages up to that. And the lead was with none other than.. Chris Horner, who had taken it on stage 19! Now if only in real life it was Contador, rather than Nibali, and real life would have copied PCM perfectly
That talks you guys made great and realistic database.

That's a way to see it But considering it's PCM simulation we're talking about, if Horner was winning the stage and Elissonde, the overall, I guess that would be equally expectable

@ Itisix: Maybe, i don't know if it's true, but maybe, Quintana attacks so much because he's not the teams leader or so? I don't know what his contract states, but maybe he's a protected rider which makes the AI give him a different role then he should have. It's just a guess though.
I'm pretty sure he is the leader. In fact, he always had a rider protecting him.
Same thing happened with Froome in the Giro.
I just make sure I don't loose too much and stay fresh and then push it towards the end. It won't be so strange, but it happened twice in the same season with 2 different riders and teams. In fact, from all the big names in the Vuelta, Quintana is the one that attacked the most.

I just thought of something.. It's probably the FTR skill (i guess.. The attack skill )
When it's high, they probably want to break away every time, exhausting them for the last week.

Anyone else having a problem with future years race routes? From 2013 to 2014, the only races I can see that have changed are Tour de France and (strangely) Eneco. All others, including the Giro and Vuelta, are identical to the previous year.
I'm in March and still no change.

Well, that's one thing that happens when you don't have a Database installed.
Also, I just started an Italian-Swiss career, will post (about) my team later.

I'm now trying to find the inspiration to start a very modest custom team. I think custom teams are unrealistic. We should have a few option and be able to select riders within a budget and not have a budget to suit the riders. I'd rather have more money for staff. Also, some of the salaries for the first season are totally unrealistic for the game (maybe they are RL?).
Let's see. Time to set up the team for the season. Not an easy task.

That's quite a strong team for Continental, you'd dominate nearly every non-cobbled race I think

I'm trying to redo the feel I was starting to get on my previous savegame. I started with Efapel and was almost at the end of season 3 with enough points to go to top div and many interesting newcomers.
The problem will be to train then properly, but slowly we go. It's hard enough for me to start a new game. I like to start once and go for years.

Finally downloaded the Daily DB, and have planned a season for Lotto. Really motivated to play and the DB looks absolutely brilliant. Hopefully this one can last a long time. Hoping to build them into a Benelux + France + Germany superteam.
Decided to sent both Greipel and VDB to the Tour, with VDB riding the Giro for Fitness and Stages. Roelandts and Vanendert will lead at the Vuelta, with De Clercq going for the GC.
Going to play the Tour Down Under now with a strong team including Greipel. Hoping for at least a couple of stage wins. |

Hey guys, my contract with the sponsor runs out this year. When do other sponsors contact me? I'm currently in April with Team Raleigh in CT. |

Soo, I started a career as well.
It's a CT team, Italotreno-Swisslife. So yeah, Italo-Swiss team
Not too many talent, and the bottom 3 are regens(Rossi has an amazing amount of talent, can be a Ardennes Top 10 later if my quick maths were right )
I already managed to win a stage in the Valley of the Sun Stage Race with Dillier

Well, I've finally gotten the DB working so now it's time for two careers.
I think I'll start off with a custom italian team, where I'll focus on a stage racing team. It will be comprised of almost nothing but scouted young players.
By the way, how are you coping with planing the season? I
m a bit bewildered since I skipped last years version. It's strange to actually have to cater to the riders feelings and needs.
Feels like I can't get my head around it

Someone said, all custom teams are unreealistic. I think it´s true.
In this version you cannot look at the home regions of the talents, so it´s impossible to make a 100% e.g. flandrian - without free riders, only Talents - team. And additionally i can´t find a flandrian sponsor when i check the belgian tricots.
So, finally i start with my beloved NetApp, as always and the second career will be a 100 % belgian team.

Started a career on PCM Daily DB, with Accent Jobs - Wanty on hard, and doing amazing come the start of March, with 4 victories already, K-B-K (Napolitano), Le Samyn and a stage of the Driedaagse van Vlaanderen (both Drucker) and the Ronde Van Drenthe (Vanlandschoot).
Top of the Team continental rankings by 150 points and 3 in the top 5 of the individual. Hoping for promotion to WT and a couple of big signings planned! |

If you're using Daily's DB (I assume you are based on your other posts), when browsing the sponsors list to create a career you should find: Italy-France-Belgium-Netherlands... (some countries), then Italy again, France again, and Belgium again. The difference between the first sponsors from these countries and the latter is that the first ones are national/international/mythical level, while the latter have regional fame. So there you should find sponsors specifically from the regions of, for Belgium, Wallonie-Bruxelles and Flanders
