Set up my "fun" career this morning. Resurrecting HTC-Highroad. Using mostly the 2011 roster with a few changes.
Out: Bak, Rasmussen, Norris
In: Guldhammer, Lovkvist, Hansen, Yates, Yates, Herklotz
Total up to 30 riders. WT naturally.
Main goal is 1st Points at the Tour. Also aiming to win MSR. Good sights for Giro and Vuelta aiming for 3+ stage wins in each. WC ITT with Martin, naturally.
Main focus of transfers will be getting a big name Cobbles rider. Eisel currently the best but we will struggle to get Top10's.
Going to try and make the team at least 20% American in 2 years, and 50% inside 5 years.
Also set myself a limit of not being able to re-sign Cavedish or Degenkolb if i have the other one. And again with Martin and Van Garderen. Not allowed to sign any of the other big name sprinters (Sagan, Kittel, Greipel). Not allowed to sign anyone French or Italian.
Looming forward to it, should be a lot of fun on the side of my story career.

Yes.I have a contract with Omega Pharma till 2015 ( I'm at 1 january 2013). Budget 8 millions. If i want to renew Boonen or any other rider, i can modify the role and the period, but i can't modify the salary which is stuck at 2.000. |

Maybe you've reached the 600,000$ wage limit? If you reached it, you can't go further, since the max wages for the riders is 600,000 in the game, Cyanide made it like that

Yes.
If you want to edit it, you can edit the salaries down in Dyn_contract_cyclists, to get under the limit.

Ok, but that's not realistic at all. I mean i'm just at the begining of the career and in real life, if omega pharma wants to renew cav, they won't release 4 or 5 riders. It's stupid. |

It does take a long time indeed.
But for me, it's important to take time for it, you can max out your results with it

Again on a GT (the Vuelta this time) and again the main contenders do the same. Main rival is Quintana and for the first 8 or 9 stages he has been attacking hard and I have been losing littler chunks of time. I wasn't too worried about that. I did lost about 2 minutes on (again) a poor TTT. But now the Vuelta is comming into the final week, I already passed Quintana and everyone else. Quintana, who I had trouble keeping up with and been losing 15, 20 seconds at times, now is left for dead and in 3 mountain stages I won 4 minutes on him and Now I'm the leader.
It just makes no sense to they burn out in the first days and fall down the end.

@ Atlanta: If you want a story with the Schleck brothers, you could make a story writing from their positions, like you are Andy or Fränk, and write a story about how life could've been for them (especially Andy) if they would've continued their great performances.
Btw: If you want to make a story, try to change your typing style a bit. Use capital letters, use punctuation, alinea's and stuff. It makes the read more clear
@ TheManxMissile: Good luck with that story. Sounds great! (Although i'm not a HTC - Highroad fan  )
@ Itisix: Maybe, i don't know if it's true, but maybe, Quintana attacks so much because he's not the teams leader or so? I don't know what his contract states, but maybe he's a protected rider which makes the AI give him a different role then he should have. It's just a guess though.

Not a career thing, but this thread seems to be the most appropriate: I set PCM to run the Vuelta's Angliru stage to test something. Then I minimized the game and sorta forgot about it. I clicked back just in time to see, in the post-race highlights, Kenny Elissonde raising his arms to win the stage.
It gets worse: I was playing in stage race mode, or actually, simulating in stage race mode, since I'd simulated all 19 stages up to that. And the lead was with none other than.. Chris Horner, who had taken it on stage 19! Now if only in real life it was Contador, rather than Nibali, and real life would have copied PCM perfectly
