La Vuelta a Espana - Stage 21
Madrid - Madrid
img218.imageshack.us/img218/5140/pcm0013x.jpg
The Vuelta is ending with this stage. It was an amazing race for us winning several stages and pure domination by Sanchez in the overall. He had absolutely no bad day in the mountains.
Today we will try to get a good result with Rojas, who is in a great form so close to the Worlds and with Freire getting older, Rojas will be sprinter number 1 in Spain.

img638.imageshack.us/img638/5994/pcm0014.jpg
A group around Freire and Arvesen attacked today. But of course we will give everything to catch them before the line.

img508.imageshack.us/i/pcm0015e.jpg/[/img]
So Duggan and Wilson with one more day doing pace. Luckily Vacansoleil is helping them.
Sanchez was the dominator in Spain. Incredibly 8 stage wins on every terrain. Brilliant how Contador had to watch his back the whole time not being able to increase. Definitely the deserved winner.

img402.imageshack.us/img402/189/pcm0018i.jpg
But also Stetina did extremely well and was very important to win the team ranking. Stetina and Duggan were already riding the Giro d'Italia but they didn`t look very tired here and made an excellent race.
Quite sure that we will see much more of him in the next year. Not just as helper but also with some freedoms in the mountains.

img534.imageshack.us/img534/8817/pcm0019.jpg
On the last lap the group is caught and the sprint will start soon.

img692.imageshack.us/img692/5359/pcm0020.jpg
Today it worked perfectly. Maaskant with a great work brings Rojas into a good position. For some reason Sagan was riding a few meters ahead.

img96.imageshack.us/img96/5460/pcm0021.jpg
But Rojas showed once more that he became a top sprinter during this season. Hopefully he will be more constant next year to see him celebrating all over the year.
It will be another situation for him just being the 4th sprinter in the team.
He wins ahead of Vaitkus, who showed a good form over the 3 weeks and surprisingly Kessiakoff on the lightly uphill finish.
I haven`t even noticed it until now copying the results. Kessiakoff overtook Bruseghin in the overall because of the bonus seconds today Wink
And it wasn`t even on purpose.

Sanchez` domination brought him into the records next to legends.
With his triumph in the overall, KoM and points ranking he is jsut the 3rd rider, who reached that. Congrats to Sanchez:

Thanks. Was quite hard actually. Luckily I had good help as I had problems to make it on my own at first.

Thanks all.
Never before I dominated a GT that much. Not even with Nibali in my PCM09 career.
I hope with more teams this will become a bit better if the top teams doesn`t fill every tiny race with their top riders Wink

WC will be next.
ITT will come soon.

Great to see new races/teams worked, awesome domination and wins in Spain, winning all classifications but young and even the last stages Grin

8 stages with LL? Omg, didn't even realize he got so much wins. Congrats for the Vuelta, also it was fun to read Smile

Good luck for Worlds, is Martin's form good? Gonna be tough against Cancellara maybe.. and of course we can't forget Sanchez Smile

LL Sanchez is the first favourite on the roads. He finishes first but just 12s faster than Rogers, who had a great day obviously.

Danny Pate was a big surprise this year. Although he is already 32 he improved a lot and became a very good time trialist. But not ernough for a top 10 today.

Jack Bobridge leads the Australian squad here together with his team mate Cameron Meyer. And he can set a new best time. Great ride by the young Aussie.

Brajkovic made another step into a good stage racer this season. I am quite sure we will see much more in the next years.

Lars Boom is riding excellent today. He beats all times on every checkpoints. And indeed another best time.

Larsson changed teams in 2011 and rode a good season for United Healthcare. With a smaller team he had more time to prepare on the Worlds. He is jsut 16s slower than Boom but is it enough for a medal?
1h12'50

img440.imageshack.us/img440/5425/pcm0010l.jpg
Leipheimer finishes 3rd but already with +1'30.

Contador beats Leipheimer but also can`t reach the first two.
1h13'36

Damn me. I forgot to make a screenshot of Cancellara Wink
He had a good ride but in the end just the 3rd for him. Lars Boom with a sensation?
1h12'54

img338.imageshack.us/img338/1654/pcm0012b.jpg
Just Tony Martin is coming. But after a long year with more than 80 race days he isn`t able to get a top time. Just 10th but surprisingly he kicks LL.Sanchez out, who was in a great shape.

Martin`s form was horrible as you see Wink

At least I hope that the new teams work now. No crashes when I click them. I added their favourite races and hope the calendar is as realistic as possible.

Awesome for Garmin. With his stats now he can lead us in several races on his own. He really increased well over the season.

UCI World Championship Road

img13.imageshack.us/img13/6339/pcm0014j.jpg
A big group of several different countries attacked. But this might be very hard with 250km to go.
With P.Velits, Kristoff, Goddaert, Reynes, Thomas, Bozic and Rohregger there are some well known names in there.

img684.imageshack.us/img684/2298/pcm0015e.jpg
Especially Team USA is doing a high pace. Good for Garmin as Tyler Farrar is their only leader here. But I have to look on Team Germany and unfortunately Greipel didn`t want to take part and Ciolek is just in an average form. So my leaders are Paul Martens and Fabian Wegmann, who was already 3rd last year.
But without longer hills it will be very hard for them.

img62.imageshack.us/img62/3420/pcm0016.jpg
It`t the final lap and several teams with a high pace now to avoid attacks. Unfortunately Ciolek is already struggling. So Wegmann or Martens must try something.

img694.imageshack.us/img694/2092/pcm0017.jpg
On the second last small hill, Wegmann attacks. He feels very strong now and luckily his form is also alright.

img834.imageshack.us/img834/5456/pcm0018e.jpg
And to the surprise of all other countries he wins the World Championship. Pity that the rainbow jersey is in the Continental the next year, so we won`t always see it in the biggest races. But this is the biggest win for him and he shows that he is a man for the Worlds.
With Sagan, Vaitkus, Cancellara and Gasparotto 4 "weaker" sprinters with good hill stats lead the peloton.
With Rojas and Haussler two Garmin or next season Garmin riders are also in the top 10.

What a victory! Especially because it happened on a flat profile. If Wegmann would be so good irl...

+1 Shame one of Garmin riders didn't win, but great managment !

Thanks. It was just perfect in the end. Everybody expected a sprint but no team wanted to do the work alone. So there was a moment with a slower pace and then it was too late for them Wink

Results in September
img20.imageshack.us/img20/1671/ergebnisse.jpg
It was a very successful month for Garmin as we had some wins in Britain, 2 wins in Canada, the overall win in the Vuelta, which was mostly in this month and the World ITT with Boom. Couldn`t have been much better.
Lövkvist and Wegmann showed a good performance and are definitely favourites for the Lombardia if they can keep their form (and if they are participating)

Sponsor goals
img695.imageshack.us/img695/2653/pcm0028.jpg
In general our sponsors were quite happy with us. Although we weren`t able to get a stage win in the Giro they were very pleased with Martin, who shoed our sponsor several times in the mountains.
In the Tour de France we had a close fight for the sprinter jersey with Boonen and Haussler but with 5 stage wins the sponsor was shown a lot.

Pro Tour Ranking
img412.imageshack.us/img412/1516/59906918.jpg
With LL Sanchez winning La Vuelta and Hesjedal`s victories in Canada we climbed on the 3rd. This is a fantastic result for us.
Team Saxobank must hope for a coup in the Lombardia to stay in the first division. For Europcar it could already be too late. Except of Chainel`s results in the Eneco Tour there wasn`t very much.
Thanks to Bruseghin Movistar overtook Saxobank and with Casar and Le Mevel they should get more points next year.
NetApp and Androni are the first Continental teams here but both won`t get a PT license as they were not strong enough in the Continental tour.

CQ Ranking
img442.imageshack.us/img442/5176/88488856.jpg
In this ranking we are even 2nd and still with good chances to win it.
LL Sanchez leading the stage wins list with 13 in this season. No sprinter was better and also Farrar had a lot of bad luck and couldn`t repeat the amount of win from last year.
For a long time it looked like Team Geox will get a PT license as Felline was winning a lot but in the 2nd season half Farnese Vini - Neri with Visconti and Gerrans were very successful. Also Cofidis won some races and especially Keukeleire had a great autumn so far. So these 2 teams are favourites now.

Races in Octobre
img440.imageshack.us/img440/4980/kalendert.jpg
Farrar will try to defend his win in Paris Tours and Hesjedal will try it in Lombardia. Both use some smaller races to keep a good form. Just five more race days before the season is over.
