La Vuelta a Espana - Stage 19
San MartÃn de Valdeiglesias - Alcobendas
The officials made this stage a hilly one as there are some hills in the middle and also the finish line is a bit uphill. But in my eyes this one is a good stage for the sprinters and so Rojas gets another chance.
As always a few riders attacked on the first kilometers.
NetApp, Garmin and Liquigas are doing the pace. Rojas, Sagan, Gilbert are for sure good riders for today, but I am not really sure about NetApp`s plan.
With 40km to go Gilbert attacks. Obviously he is supposed to try it this way while Sagan waits for a sprint finish.
A few kilometers later Contador is attacking. Some riders like S.Sanchez, Schleck, Sastre... are following. As we have still all 9 riders in this group, Duggan, Wilson and Pate are doing the pace. It shouldn`t be a problem to get them back.
The sprint started and the last kilometer were strange. As it was officially a hilly stage many sprinters forgot to sprint...
It looked like a nice win for Rojas but in the last moment LL Sanchez stole him his win. Contador also showed unknown sprint skills and finished 3rd after our 2 Garmin riders.
Maaskant, who helped Rojas finding the perfect position sprinted on 5 and completes a perfect result.

Maybe I will change to "Extreme" next season as I winning too much in my opinion. Also I am thinking about adding some more teams (~10) to avoid that many race days of all the riders and to have a bigger challenge in the final 2 months.
But at first I have to find out exactly what I have to change all to have a quite realistic season plan for these teams. |

Unkown sprint-kills from LLS and Contador, too
I think, it's ok with level "hard" as you "just" dominated this Vuelta and not all races/Grand Tours this year.. but I do understand your point

Agree to tsmoha, with very good rider in Vuelta like Sanchez with season peak, you can win quite easily as almost none of big names have season peak there, great sprting by the way |

Thanks a lot.
I might continue on hard, but if I keep dominating in the races I will change.
This means dominating in March and April as January and February are always a bit weird. |

Tour of Britain - Stage 6
Liverpool - Kendal
The 6th stage is totally flat and so Farrar is the top favourite. Steegmans is also a good bet today but he had already a very long season and Farrar is feeling great so close to the World Cup in Copenhagen.
Just Marcel Kittel (PSK) and Michael Barry (UnitedHealthcare) are forming the break of the day. Obviously most riders know that the sprinter teams won`t give them a chance.
With 20km to go the group was caught and the sprinters are coming to the front.
Millar-Vansummeren-Boom-Hunter-Farrar looks like an unbeatable sprint train.
And indeed. Farrar is winning without big problems ahead of his team mate Hunter, who feels better from day to day after his crash.
Vinokourov keeps the overall but next stage can change it again as Lövkvist is counted as same time.

Tour of Britain - Stage 7
Dumfries - Glasgow
Also the final stage is flat and Farrar wants another win here to win the points jersey. The sprint train will help him again.
Some riders attack to present their sponsor in the media. But with that many sprinter teams in the peloton htey won`t have a chance.
Löw is doing most work alone in the peloton. Hopefully next year he get some results in smaller races on his own. But at least in 2 years we expect some results from him.
Again Farrar can trust on his team mates, who bring him into a perfect position...
...and he celebrates again and wins the points jersey. Surprisingly Gerrans on 2 and Duque on 3 complete the podium ahead of Robbie Hunter with another good result.
Unfortunately we couldn`t defend the win from 2010 as we had bad luck on the first stage. But with 3 stage wins and two riders in the top 10 we can be happy. Especially Kreder on 9 with the best result in this season as he mostly had to help his leaders and here he was allowed to ride on his own.
Also Thomas Lövkvist overtakes Vinokourov on the final stage and wins the Tour of Britain. This was an important win for Team Sky.

Just stay riding at hard, the Vuelta is always a race were a lot of riders don't have the energy anymore. If you want to then LL can win the Vuelta in PCM every year, the hard thing is to keep him happy the rest of the year When he's resting for the Vuelta!
Could he win the World Champs?

The course in Copenhagen is quite flat with some hills. So a sprinter is the favourite.
But with a good form also puncheurs can attack, but don`t think that the Spanish AI is riding for him with Rojas as main sprinter
Also Haussler, Goss and Farrar with good chances. So hopefully a Garmin rider will wear it next year.
As I ride Germany I have no influence on my own riders. |

Would be great
La Vuelta a Espana - Stage 20
Guadalajara - Alcalá de Henares
This 39km TTT won`t change to much probably as Sanchez` advance is already quite big. But behind him several positions aren`t secured yet.
Biggest favourites are Rabobank with Rogers, Westra and Posthuma and Garmin with Pate, Sanchez and Kessiakoff.
Rabobank was doing very well and beated all previous times.
56'23
For Euskaltel it`s still the battle for the podium. They finish 3rd behind Rabobank and a very strong Movistar team.
56'35
Astana just has to ride a normal TTT today. Contador will keep his 2nd for sure. With a week time trial squad here they will finish far behind.
57'22
Leopard - Trek should have good chances today with Fuglsang and Porte but they don`t have the best day.
57'15
LL Sanchez leads the Garmin team for the most time in this TTT. On the first 2 checkpoints we had the best time and so we were even able to wait for Stetina on the final 10km as he struggled.
Nevertheless we beated Rabobank by more than one minute.
Brilliant day for us as Kessiakoff enters the top 10 again and will finish the Vuelta as 8th in the overall now after being 25th last year.
So Bruseghin (73mo) on 7 and Kessiakoff (74mo) are the biggest surprises in the top 10 but obviously both of them had a perdect form here.

I think going to extreme is a difficult discision, because (i don't know about the new games) but in the older one you don't stand even a chance again Cancellara and Boonen in races like Flanders and Roubaix. Even when you're in supershape, they ride you straight out of their backwheel. But it now really looks like the Vuelta is won! Hope for a nice classic win with Farrar (Paris Tours) or Sanchez/Hesjedal(Lombardia)!
