Don`t think that I can defend this ranking. Schleck and Fuglsang will both be top 10 contenders whereas Kessiakoff and Stetina will be top 20 conteders like Porte in his form.
So they will get some seconds or minutes in every mountain stage.
But 2nd with my team is also good
Stetina`s 3rd in the Youth ranking is quite safe as Sagan is already +10min (4)
KoM could be interesting how often Tondo will attack to collect points. |

The two Canadian Races Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec and Grand Prix Cycliste de Montreal were founded in 2010 and became immediately part of the UCI Pro Tour. Both races are very hilly and perfect for all kinds of puncheurs.
The course consisted of 15 laps a 12km circuit ending with an hard uphill finish.
Result in 2010
1 | Tadey Valvacev | Ag2r La Mondiale | 2 | Yuri Trofimov | Bbox | 3 | Kanstantsin Sivtsov | Team HTC-Columbia | 4 | Michael Albasini | Team HTC-Columbia | 5 | René Mandri | Ag2r La Mondiale | 6 | Steven Kruijswijk | Rabobank | 7 | Johnny Hoogerland | Vacansoleil Pro Cycling Team | 8 | Simon Spilak | Lampre-Farnese Vini | 9 | Rui Alberto Fario Da Costa | Caisse d'Epargne | 10 | Francesco Failli | Acqua e Sapone |
As the race was integrated in the DB too late, we couldn`t take part and it was simulated. So it will be our debut in Canada this year.
Garmin squad in 2011
Our riders will use this race as preparation for the World Cup. Especially Boom and Bobridge could do well in the time trial.
Our leader is Hesjedal, who is also the only with with a decent form.
Martin and Boom will be backups.

As most strong riders are at the Vuelta or take a race break after the Tour, the starting field isn`t that strong and Hesjedal is the biggest favourite.
Hopefully our Canadian can win in his home country. At least he should be extra motivated. |

Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec
Québec - Québec
All the climbs will split the group and in the end the best riders will fight for the win. Of course there is a chance for a successful breakaway but we will try to avoid this for Hesjedal.
A group around Bonnafond (Ag2r) and Tosatto (Quickstep) is build after the first lap. The young French rider improved very well and will be a man you have to watch in the mountains next season.
After a few more laps some stronger riders attacked to join the group.
It`s K.Koren, S.Pauwels, S.Klimov, D.Rollin and J.Tschopp.
So Bobridge and Meier are doing a higher pace to control them. Next season Bobridge will be able to lead our team in some races as proven in the Eneco Tour. But in that hilly races he will still help our leaders.
The peloton becomes very small and just Hesjedal, Boom and Martin in this group. The breakaway is almost caught and the leaders are preparing for their attacks.
With one lap to go Hesjedal with an strong attack as the group is just caught.
And the Canadian takes this win. This looks also promising for the second Canadian race in 2 days. He wins ahead of Francesco Masciarelli, Alexander Efimkin.
Another big success for Hesjedal. Hopefully next year also more luck in the Ardennes.

Unfortunately not. All important stats can`t be improved more. Same with Tyler Farrar and Sanchez, no more improvement.
Therefore Martin can still improve in mountain and hill. |

Wow, it took me 4 days to read the whole story. My boss won't like it But you are doing great and it's also cool you changed the jerseys and everything. Can't wait for next season because Haussler is one of my favorite riders!

Thanks all.
@ tombola: Nice to hear that you like the story. Next year we should be much more competive in the sprints and with Fuglsang also better in one week races.
Instead of Millar and Zabriskie he could lead the squad, although both of them did great in relationship to their low stats.
But most important was to get a 2nd stage racer with better time trial stats. |

Great win with Hesjedal!
Also, great riding with LLS so far. Hopefully your his fitness will give you the edge you need over Contador. The Vuelta is always a bit weird because tons of the riders have 70-75 race days before even starting. |

Luckily all favourites weren`t that tired. This wouldn`t make much fun.
Biggest opponents had 50 and the maximum was Rogers or Velits with 65.
Contador will finish the Vuelta with 72. So still a good form until the end.

Thanks. Hope so, too. Martin and Stetina will indeed become great climbers. But therefore they have problems in time trial.
La Vuelta a Espana - Stage 13
Burgos - Santuario de la Bien Aparecida
This stage is mostly flat with some steep hills. But on the final climb there will be splits for sure. 6,5km uphill in the end.
As we don`t want to do the pace in every stage this might be something for a breakaway.
Just 3 riders in the break. Kroon (BMC), Posthuma (Rabobank) and Lechuga (Andalucia).
None of them is close to the top 20.
Duggan and Wilson with a very slow pace. With 120km to go the advance is at 12min.
70km and still 14min advance. Their attack will definitely have success today.
After all the smaller climbs they got rid of Lechuga. Just one more climb and 2 riders in the front group.
Together they start the final 6km. They are quite similar and so it`s hard to name a favourite.
Also the peloton reaches the final climb. The overall leader Sanchez increases and creates a small gap.
On the last kilometer Kroon was stronger than Posthuma and takes the win. A big win for the "small" BMC team after most big names left after 2010.
The gap is becoming bigger and so Contador, Schleck and S.Sanchez are forced to attack. But also LL Sanchez is feeling good and increases, too.
Lechuga comes in third but lost almost 9min on the last 30km. Totally exhausted he secures his podium today ahead of Sanchez, who was able to gain time on his biggest opponents.
Unfortunately Stetina lost about one minute to the next bigger group around Kessiakoff. But as Porte lost another minute we were even able to gain time on Leopard-Trek.

Thanks all. Last stage really was perfect for us gaining time in the overall and the team ranking as Porte looks extremely out of form.
Next stage is a bit weird. First I couldn`t load the original variant stage as the game always freezed while loading. So I looked for a similar stage and the 4th stage of the Austrian Tour was the best I found. Similar lenght and profile. So the screenshots might be quite strange for the Vuelta.
Also the game crashed afterwards so I wasn`t able to export the results. Complete results will follow with the next stage.
La Vuelta a Espana - Stage 14
Todays stage is pretty flat until the final climb. Who attacks first and especially on what point?
LL Sanchez will wait for attacks and won`t do his move earlier than the last 5km. As most favourites are already far behind we must concentrate on Contador most.
Several riders with an attack today. As the best of them is ~50 with more than 30min back, we don`t necessarily need to bring them back immediately.
So Garmin and a bit Euskaltel are doing a good pace to avoid a big time gap but not too high.
Obviously it was too slow for the Basque team and so they ordered all their riders to work for Sanchez. Does he really want to attack the first two or just attack to save the podium?
With 18km to go the group starts the climb with 3min advance on the peloton.
Thomas Rohregger did very well on the first two mountain top finishes and so he is the first with an attack. Is he maybe feeling that this is in fact taking place in Austria today?
Sastre with a high pace now. Contador and Sanchez always close together here. Also Kessiakoff is doing well while Stetina has lightly problems.
With 5km to go Sanchez increased and just Contador is able to follow. This Vuelta win will definitely be a fight between these two.
And again Sanchez was stronger then the Tour de France winner 2011.
He also gains 9s on him plus the bonus seconds. It`s looking better from stage to stage now.
1'18 later all other favourites finished. In this group there are Schleck, Fuglsang and Kessiakoff.
Stetina will come in one minute later but still 20s ahead of Porte, so we gained a lot of time today in the team ranking. Very good day for us.
