Thanks for the millions of replies!
juszta: Thanks
francopell: That's a lot for one season
Daggen: Indeed
JuanMotr: Thanks!
Stromeon: Not so sure, but it could happen
pdxboon: Thank you!
sutty68: Yup
Wild Dog: Rui Costa is a wise man that said the wisest thing in 2015
FroomeDog99: Hope so, too!
the_hoyle: That would be impressive
rogvi97: Another fact... wonder what it'll be!
Daggen: Maybe, yeah.
kqyt: No Vuelta. Well, it's hard to keep saying you won't win if you win so much. But perhaps you are right, the character's changed (too) much over these past seasons... |

Well, there's something to be said and it ain't easy, but it's got to be said.
Fact is, and I think you all know it to be true, this story is not what I expected it to be. To be honest, it's only mediocre and nowhere near the level that A Tale of Two might have been. The quality of the reports is really low, and I'm quite disappointed with it. I thought A Tale of Two was pretty special, but this is getting to be a drag, I feel. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy racing with Roberto, but the reports are really not good.
I think I should take a little break from storywriting, a couple of days, and try to get back in touch with it, try to come back with something better and of a better quality. It's a hard decision to make, but I have to make it. I could continue this but I know I can do much better. I realize another stopped story probably makes you question my credibility as a story writer, but that's a risque I have to take.
I might come back in a few days with a two-rider story (not a copy of Eric & Stijn), and try to make it something special. I'll take the time to develop some more backstory, do lesser reports but make them better and try to get a nicer lay-out as well. I'll also try to find a nice balance between realism and strong riders (Stijn was a bit too strong, probably). Give the two characters more character and a unique personality.
Because I think this story even started out quite sloppy. The pace is somewhat fast and the reports show for that speed, they are quickly written and the interviews are just weak at times.
Like I said, I realize this somewhat affect my credibility, and I'm sorry to do it, but in the long run I think it'll be better. Hope you can understand, once again, and hope to see some of you there when my new story should kick off. But I won't rush anything.
Lastly, I want to thank everyone here for sticking with this and/or any of my previous stories. You've all been great, reading and commenting, and I can't thank you enough. It's very gratifying to write for such a responsive and optimistic audience. So thanks, and hope you had a good time anyway!

Do whatever you feel like doing. We really enjoyed this story, and I'm sure, that the next story will be even better!

A Tale Of Two and this were both great. I liked this story for its fast pace, it progressed well and I enjoyed seeing Roberto quickly evolve. In my opinion A Tale Of Two and this have been two of the best stories of the time that I've been here and for me you're one of the elite story writers. Do what you think is best but you've done two quality stories both over 40 pages in under 6 months and that is impressive. |

I think it is important that you have the patience to right the full story. If you make 10 years out of a rider, it doesn't really matter that on the 3rd season the reports where not that good. Roberto got fast to the top, probably he'll win Tour next season and then it will be hard for motivation. The way around, with a weaker rider (like my Agostinho with not more than 74/75 skills) makes it really hard for the story to be about him when you have stronger riders on the team, and logically he will not lead the major races. So i'm also enjoying the team and PCM12.
About epic cyclists, Contador's life is quite inspiring and i think it's obvious that is by far the best rider on the last and on the next years. Roberto beating him shouldn't be that easy.
Anyway, if you want to start new stories it's because you have a lot of imagination and that is essential to be a good writer.
Whatever your decision is, people will support it!

Don´t look at ending a story and starting a story that way... If you don´t feel like doing this then stop! Think about it again twice and then of you really feel like it´s the time make something new. It don´t have to be two rider story! I know you have great ideas so show it to us. |

Its always sad when someone loses their motivation to keep up with their story, especially when the story is a Good one and popular with others here on Daily
So i do agree with you that you should take a break from story writing for a while and come back in a few weeks totally refreshed and ready to go again |

Sad news. I know the feeling very well though, so I completely understand.
You shouldn't write a story if you're not enjoying it. Take your time and come up with something that motivates you. Hope to see you back soon.

Yup, just take it easy, enjoy your story writing break, and when you got a great idea and enough motivation, start a new one
What's a bad report for you is still enjoyable for me though...
Yes, Tale of Two was better, but that was one of the best stories I saw on this site... This one was really good too...
So take your time and return with another (great) story when you're ready...

Shame to see it go, it's been a fun read, I can see why though, playing the game with a dominator can get dull at times, I know it's been suggested but i'll do it again, have you considered a team story?

It's a shame to see the story end. Both this and the Tale of Two story were great reads, and really entertaining, and it is disappointing that you have lost the motivation for the the game.
Personally, I don't think that your reporting diminished. It was a 10 year story, and some times you need to skip over some races so that the story progresses quickly. As Kimiopn said, you have written over 40 pages of reports in less than 6 months with just the two stories, and even though, you have tried to start other stories recently, you have always come back to this one.
I only hope that after a few days/a week away from the story, you will come back more determined than ever, destorying the WT peleton in the process

It's a shame but if you aren't motivated it's the right decision, i only can say you must relax and you are one of the best storywriting...About A Tale of Two, you are right it was one of the most beatiful...Though i'm sure you will start (i don't know when) with anothe wonderfull story |
