Apparently my laptop hates the UCPCL db... played a couple of Vodafone stages and it ran smoothly
Will get E3 done tomorrow, even if it kills me

And most of the time that means that the favourite didn't win
Or a mass crash appeared and you haven't finished the race yet?

When i wrote that there were 119km to go Now down to 84 and i can safely say i have never seen this happen in a cobbled classic... i genuinely have zero clue as to what is going to happen...

You are really evil TMM.
I'm getting really, really curious now.

VUELTA CICLISTA AL PAIS VASCO
As the peak of Spring Classics racing is being attained in the Northern European countries, Spain is holding its first major stage race in the Basque Country, lining up an impressive field of climbers and GC specialists. Whether they are fine-tuning their form to be at the top of their game for the Giro d'Italia, or having the Vuelta a Pais Vasco as an objective in its own right, riders will be fighting hard in the six-stage event.
With two Cat. 1 summit finishes on the menu (Santuario de Arrate on stage three and Alto de Ibardin on stage four), there will be no respite at this Vuelta a Pais Vasco, starting on Monday with stage one already featuring seven climbs, one Cat. 2 and one Cat. 1. The final individual time trial of 18.9 kilometres on Saturday in Oñati will settle the overall winner.
Source: Cyclingnews
Stage 1
Güeñes - Güeñes 152km
Stage 1 is a hilly stage which can go anywhre. It could end in a sprint, the favourites can break away on the last hill or the breakaways manages to stay away from the peleton?
Stage 2
Güeñes - Vitoria-Gasteiz 165,7km
The same story goes for stage 2. Hilly, but no real mountains. Anything could happen.
Stage 3
Vitoria-Gasteiz - Eibar-Arrate 154km
Stage 3 finishes 1 km after a mountain, the Alto de Usartza (7,3km @ 6,7%). This stage is this year's queen stage and will deliver fireworks. The climbers will attack on this mountain, an they'll battle it out in the little flat part after it.
Stage 4
Eibar - Bera-Ibardin 151km
Another uphill finish, this time the riders have to negotiate the Alto de Ibardin (5,6 km @ 5,2%). This stage is almost a copy of the previous stage, so some riders who had a bad day there will seek for revenge.
Stage 5
Bera-Ibardin - Oñati 183km
Stage 5 is again hilly, but the sprinters are having a big chance here. A breakaway might also succeed.
Stage 6 (ITT)
Oñati - Oñati 18,9km
Stage 6 is a time-trial which will decide this year's Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco. The riders can lose and gain time here they lost or won at the mountains. Who will be the winner?

Alberto Contador has the best papers to win. He's the best climber and can deliver a great time-trial. He and his team will be disappointed if he doesn't win
Samuel Sánchez is someone who can climb well and is not that bad in time-trials. Contador is probably better, but Sammy can perfrom great in the outsider role.
Andy Schleck is a great climber, but his time-trial ability not. That might cost him the victory.
Outsiders
| | | | Rider | Team | Mountain | Hill | Time-trial | Rui Costa | TAP-Michelin | 76 | 78 | 75 | Robert Gesink | Motorex-Credit Suisse | 79 | 77 | 75 | Ryder Hesjedal | Barry's Maple Leaf | 79 | 78 | 74 | Thibaut Pinot | Caterham-Austar | 78 | 76 | 73 | Jurgen Van den Broeck | Pro Team Haier | 80 | 76 | 72 |
Rui Costa is not the best one in the mountains, but the hills are his playground. He will attack for sure.
Robert Gesink is a contender for the top-5 if he stays on his bike.
Ryder Hesjedal is a good climber. He will be looking for a top-5 here.
Thibaut Pinot is young and talented. He can show here what he is capable of.
Jurgen Van den Broeck is good in climbing, not in a time-trial. This can cost him some time he needs to gain on the mountains.
Can't be underestimated
| | | | Rider | Team | Mountain | Hill | Time-trial | Igor Anton | Magners Pro Team | 78 | 78 | 68 | Juan Jose Cobo | Magners Pro Team | 77 | 76 | 72 | Philippe Gilbert | Lierse-Pizza Ullo | 68 | 80 | 73 | Tony Martin | Team Fastweb | 73 | 75 | 83 | Nicholas Roche | Tulip-Guinness | 77 | 75 | 72 | Fränk Schleck | ING-InBev | 78 | 78 | 70 | Rigoberto Urán | CC Cafe | 77 | 77 | 73 |
Well, hills, hills and hills. You don't know where this will go to. Maybe a time-trialist can suprise or a breakaway gets a good gap. Who will win? You can find out after the riders are finished in Catalunya and get ont heir planes to Basque Country.

Note: This report does not do justice to this race, sorry...
The mini tour of Flanders kicks of the World Tour cobbles campaign in cold conditions, with temperatures struggling to reach double figures, but at least its not raining. The divisions absolute best are out in force today all hoping to take home glory. There are two big teams, Motorex and ING, who will be hoping for the big win. Behind them Lunar and Fastweb also boast the riders capable of the outside win. The race is most likely to be decided on the Paterberg - Oude Kwaremont double that comes late on. But lets get into the action!
McNally (CAT) opened the days attacking. There were lots of people wanting to get up the road, including riders from both ING and Lunar. For a while Von Triensberg (TUG) looked like going solo but he was eventually joined and then caught by the peloton.
None of the attacks would stick as MCS and ING closed everything down as they really stamped their power on the developing race. It wasn't to last!
McNally starting the action
124km left and Barry (BAR) attacked. Nothing special, but it was those who followed that made this race.
Eeckhout (LPU), Posthuma (AGT) and Hammarling (CAT) countered! Then so did Phinney (PGR), Gilbert (LPU), Hammond (ITV), Leukemans (ABC), Bak (HAI), Rast (CAT), Hoste (ABC), Gallopin (IOQ) and Love (TAM)!!!
This large 13 man group powered away to form the days breakaway! ING and MCS certainly looked nervous as they were unable to pull it back quick enough...
We will pick up the racing with 73km to go, as the break hits the hills...
Hammarling is the first of the big movers
73km to go - The break holds 4'16 as the race hits the main hills
50km - Gallopin, Posthuma, Barry, Eeckhout and Rast have been dropped. Behind the race is splitting under the pressure and the climbs.
The lead group includes Chavanel, Hushovd, Cancellara, Flecha, Boonen, Nuyens and some domestiques from TLI, MCS and ABC. Ballan, Vansumeren, Pozzato and Breschel find themselves over 1'00 down and dropping backwards!
38km - On to the Paterberg! The break holds the favorites group at 3'19! The eloton is a further 2'04 behind them! It is more and more likely that the winner is going to come from that break! But the favorites group is pushing hard to close them down...
Climbing the Paterberg
36km - Flecha attacks!
33km - At the top of the Oude Kwaremont this is how things stand:
E1 >2'20> Flecha >39"> E3 Cancellara, Boonen, Nuyens, Chavanel, Hushovd
Pressing ahead up front
30km - Boonen and Cancellara drop Flecha and co. and head off in pursuit of the shattering lead!
24km - Over the top of The Tiegemberg the race is splitting even more!
Gilbert, Bak, Leukemans, Love and Hammarling lead >40"> Phinney and Hoste >12"> Hammond >36"> Cancellara and Boonen >20"> Flecha >1'18> Nuyens >12"> Chavanel >15"> Hushovd
18km - Leukemans, Gilbert and Bak attack their companions to go clear!
Attack in the lead group
10km - Leukemans wants this win today as he attacks again! 2'21 behind there is a large regrouping of the favorites group and attackers
Bjorn goes again!
7km - And again its Leukemans!
Can he make it stick...
5km - He doesn't stop! Leukemans with another attack!
3km - The trio are together! Gilbert leads them down the road...
1500m Bak jumps first! He steals a gap with Leukemans dragging Gilbert along
1000m Bak holds his gap, but Gilbert starts to come around Leukemans
500m Gilbert draws level with Bak! But both men are empty... the pace is dropping with the pain etched into their faces...
FINISH But Philippe Gilbert wins!!!
Bak takes 2nd and Leukemans 3rd. Hammarling wins the group sprint behind for 4th. Cancellara 5th, Boonen 6th and Flecha 7th. Love a strong 8th and Hoste a surprising 9th. Hammond completes the Top 10
