Draft R11-13
A lot of people ended up or even chose Belgium for Round 11, it's a good thing we never run out of cyclists. Also a few French guys and BBL sticks to his America First policy.
Round 12 made things easier again, with a lot of people getting theirs first choice.
Round 13 was all over the place, once again a lot of people getting a high pick because of the variety.
| Spokes | Cobblers | Fearless | L | Mariners | Bonkers | GPTs | Racoons | Ice Tulips | Turuls | Inspectors | Comrades | Pacifiers | Hornets | R11 | MARIT Arne | CHAMPOUSSIN Clement | FRETIN Milan | WIDAR Jarno | BRAET Vito | SIMMONS Quinn | BEULLENS Cedric | TAMINIAUX Lionel | MEURISSE Xandro | DEHAIRS Simon | GODON Dorian | VAN DE PAAR Jarne | LAURANCE Axel | DE SCHUYTENEER Steffen | R12 | WALSCHEID Max | COSTIOU EWEN | BISSEGGER Stefan | BALLERINI Davide | VANGHELUWE Warre | LAMPERTI Luke | DE PESTEL Sander | VAN DIJKE Tim | KRIJNSEN Jelte | VAN WILDER Ilan | JUNGELS Bob | BAUHAUS Phil | BARBIER Pierre | DEWULF Stan | R13 | ULISSI Diego | ROMO Javier | BARGUIL Warren | BJERG Mikkel | KWIATKOWSKI Michal | HOELGAARD Markus | HONORE Mikkel Frolich | ALBANESE Vincenzo | STORK Florian | BILBAO Pello | MENTEN Milan | VAN UDEN Casper | GARCIA CORTINA Ivan | PLUIMERS Rick |
For the final round, I need
R14: A rider from your home nation or a country bordering it (pick only one country)
R15: Free pick
R16: Free pick
Please send these in by monday morning, that's 24/02 at 08:00 again. I'll do the final draft round then so there's a few days left to send in your teams for Block 1.

It does not inspire confidence in my decision making that I get my #1 choice of a free pick at pick 12 Although then again, the other three of my Top 4 had been taken already, which is a bit more reassuring but not ideal for the remaining free pick rounds. Still, I think stocking up on sprinters was necessary for me, now they just need to actually ride a few classics, please!

I think those were all 3 first choices. Hmm, not sure that is a good sign. Bjerg doesn't race much but has a pretty good track record where he does. Ballerini was useless last year but looks like they have him lined up for a lot of classics this year. So fingers crossed.

Missing out on Marit and Fretin, hoping Braet is a good 3rd here. So many sprinters in that team though. Vangheluwe could get a breakthrough year, but it could also go very wrong with Quick Step. Kwiatkowski needs a new contract next year, so I hope he has one big win left in him. Was surprised he was available still.
The Spokes and Racoons with some good picks here, although I like the Hornets picks very much as well.

And Laporte is out already. I knew I should've gone for Jorgenson or Benoot instead.

Full Draft
Once again, I thank everyone for sending their PM's in on time. Unless I made some mistake, the final draft is done and everyone has their teams available now.
In R14, a lot of people noticed Scaroni's recent success, the first team that could draft him won in the end.
For R15 and 16, a lot of people still got pretty high choices on their list, while others had to settle for riders outside their top 5.
Here's the full draft, I'll also add it to the first page:

Opening weekend
BLOCK 1 | Opening weekend | | 1/03/2025 | Omloop Het Nieuwsblad | WT2 | 1/03/2025 | Faun-Ardèche Classic | CT1 | 2/03/2025 | Kuurne - Brussel - Kuurne | CT+ | 2/03/2025 | La Drôme Classic | CT1 |
So now the game can really begin (unless I made a mistake in the draft, but let's hope not). This block has never changed in the history of the game, so you should all be familiar with is. Cycling begins on the Flemish cobbles and France adds two tough hilly classics. 4 races on 2 days, so pick wisely!
I will need your list of 8 riders in this thread by saturday morning 10u00 CET. This is a hard deadline, if you miss it by even a minute I will just take your top 8 draft picks. Feel free to make changes before the deadline, but do this in a new post, no editing please. Use the format LASTNAME Firstname (like the draft, list of all riders in this format is in the top posts on the first page). They need to be posted in this topic, no by pm. It's more entertaining if we can make fun of each other's mistakes
Procyclingstats is probably the best place for startlists, but as we noticed in the past, it can be very difficult for some races.

Needed some hilly riders and I found them in Italy. I hope Scaroni can continue his good form and Busatto takes some nice steps in his development this year. Not a given, but certainly possible, hopefully with the same calendar as last year. Hoped for Wright but figured he would get drafted earlier than the penultimate choice, but Mayrhofer can also still be decent and it seems like he'll join some classics this year.
Thank you for completing part 1 of the game, Ollfardh!
BLOCK 1 - Pacifiers
KOOIJ Olav
LAPEIRA Paul
MAGNIER Paul
VERMEERSCH Florian
SKUJINS Tom
GARCIA CORTINA Ivan
SCARONI Christian
MAYRHOFER Marius
Tough choice in benching some guys already. Hopefully Penhoet and Delettre don't prove me wrong.

I needed a French sprinter for those minor classics, Tesson was gone so I ended up with Coquard. Could go both ways I guess. I got my two top picks in 15 and 16, which in a way is nice, but I feel I'm going to regret missing out on Ben Turner that way.
I don't have a clear favourite after the draft, although it will be tough to beat Pacifiers or Hornets if their big guys take 2-3 monuments. And yes, I am expecting Pogi in Roubaix
Now I need a long hard think about my team for the opening weekend. Same as above, 13 confirmed starters so far, so in a way I should be happy Laporte is out.

I have a feeling I might regret choosing Demare over Labrosse there, hopefully the old man still has something left in the tank. I feel like I'm also a bit weak on the hills, hopefully Barré can be a decent addition. Either way, looking forward to following all my comrades throughout the next months!

MIHKELS Madis
MEEUS Jordi
BAGIOLI Andrea
GROVES Kaden
REX Laurenz
COQUARD Bryan
Leaving out a few big names, I'm going 7/8 for Omloop with Bagioli hopefully having a free role in France. Waerenskjold winning Kuurne will be annoying though.

Really loved and struggled with having the 1st pick - but overall happy with my team. Sad to learn SKA won't join the team until April due to surgery, but we can handle that. Feeling rather confident in 3-4 riders as well as many hopes to get some teammate points throughout the season. Also really banking on Astana continuing to focus on point scoring and sprinting for every position with every rider.
Final point, I believe my team is evidence of the German love of Maximilian/Max - 3 Germans, 3 Max's.
Block 1 - Spokes
HIRSCHI Marc

What I've learnt from ChatGPT:
- Jasper Philipsen has a WC medal
- Florian Senechal is Belgian
- Roger De Vlaeminck is still active
- Chloe Dygert is male
- Remco Evenepoel is not among the top 20 Belgian riders
- People born in 2001 are younger than people born in 2002
- Nicolas Roos is a cyclist
Normally I finished at the bottom so nothing much to gain by seeing if ChatGPT could do better than me. Looking at the team I guess not At least it gave me 13 riders participating in the first block
Block 1 - GPTs
BETTIOL Alberto
BEULLENS Cedric
DE PESTEL Sander
HAYTER Ethan
JORGENSON Matteo
LAMPAERT Yves
TEUNS Dylan
THEUNS Edward

I think I have a decent team, but there's no way I can defend the title. Should have been more careful with the last pick, but it probably won't matter much in the end.
I'll post the picks for the opening weekend as soon as I can find an 8th starter on the startlists
