Awful performances by De Bie and still 5th in GC. Far from deserved but I take it.

Unfortunately no stage results despite her should have won at least one stage.

And no idea where the full support squad was. They got dropped far too early.

Was hoping for Lane to hit the break and he did! Disastrous GC result, as to be expected with David doing nothing the entire season. If Lane can hold on to the KoM lead on the final stage, we would at least get something from this race. But it will be a thriller. I fear.

A bit unlucky perhaps that Cosnefroy got caugt behind a bit, but also lucky to stay in 4th place, with just two seconds down to 6th place.

The race has turned out in a quite different way than I thought, but with just one flat stage left, we have to be fairly happy with the GC here.

Thank you for the report, jph!

Unfortunate that we couldn't get into the breakaway, but admittedly we wouldn't have been able to do much there. Congratulations to viking on the win! You're not making it any easier to catch you in the fight to avoid relegation Pfft

For the GC here, it has obviously been unexpected. Well done to those able to take advantage of how it played out, favouring the time trialists and puncheurs.

This race couldn't have gone any worse. The TTT at the beginning was horrible for PCM AI it seems. Our team did not try, so instead of having two top5 contenders we couldn't even make the top20. Major setback in the title race.

Nice to see our team make the break and good selection of attackers as well but unfortunately, we were just caught in time and couldnt get any benefit from this.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Looking at how the points have mixed it up in the two races (Deutschland and here) I could see a VERY tight top 3 going into the final month. Unfortunately no great races for us, so we can't mingle, but top 5 is still possible.

Well we grabbed a stage win but Van Baarle wasn't too impressive at all and finished 11th in the end which sucks a little for me, after the opening TTT we probably expected a little more and he really didn't perform well at all afterwards...

We aimed for the win, but we still have to wait for that first win in the rainbow (and only one chance left now ...). Despite that, we have to be fairly happy with a 300+ points plus race. We should be totally safe now and that's always good to know going into the last few races.

In that sense a big race for ISA, with Degenkolb bringing his best level to the race and finishing off in style, while Aker (unfortunately as another Norwegian team) seems to be struggling.

Congrats to matt on an amazing race and thanks for all the reports, jph!

Thanks for the reports. Good effort from De Bie GC wise. Not a lot more to say as depth points were missing completely and also the expectation in such race to maybe win a stage for once with De Bie in the hills didn't work at all. Quite far off tbh.

Also, join the breaks on sprinter stages. Annoying to not go into those when you know you can't score otherwise. Even more when they win.

Congrats Matt. Big race

Lane giving us at least something from this race, that has always been terrible for us. He's a nice attacking rider and since we rarely pick up leader/classification shirts, this is a nice achievement.

Tom David definitely won't ride in our colors for another year. What a bummer he is. This "trade" (Dion Smith/Tom David) must have been one of my worst moves ever.

Thanks for the reports and congrats to those, who did well!

That feels like an understatement Pfft I guess (hope) we still have Volvo to fight with, as I expect Aegon to do very well in Maroc. It will be a very, very tense final month of the season.

Thank you for the reports, jph!

Congrats matt, huge 1,2 for Generali!

Our veterans Kruijswijk and Bibby and 14th and 16th is decent.
Also good to see our future in this race, Malecki, already grab a top 25.
And well done Furdi and Potts for finishing top 30.

Overall we had a good race here.

Thanks for the reports!

Congrats Matt, what a result!
Really interesting race with some massive disappointments to boot. Tthe ttt set things off on a strange foot and it just kinda rolled from there. Nice to see Nurbolat try something here but to no avail. We are shithouse. The end. Thank you for the reports too!

Short post TONE / Deutschland Update on the PT standings.

Puma moves past Evonik as later had a terrible performance with Blythe in TONE while Cavagna showed up massively. Isostar still in the lead with two decent races even though TONE was far from expectations.

Generali and Grieg both move up a lot from lower mid table into lower top10 spots.

Further down no changes at all. Volvo though has opened a gap due to a solid two races, in especially Deutschland, while Aker MOT is now under pressure as Aegon has reduced the gap a bit. Those 2 are likely to fight for the final save spot, except they can still somehow pull ISA/Volvo down into that fight.

Basically it feels like a repeat of my first PT relegation, when I battled on that final spot versus Heine`s Volkswagen team iirc.

In the end I lost but back then it felt like still a solid season and just too weak riders.

This year it would really be annoying to see me relegating as despite going a risk with losing out on many riders due to training and not spending the full wage budget by quite a bit, having so many underperformances hurt, when the gap is so small.

Really need Olivier to perform in Maroc now and then any counts in the other races obviously. Could finally need some more breakaway luck as well as despite in the Giro basically, the team wasn`t really too successful this season.

Groenewegen only has 33 % of his 2019 points (arguably, that last season was extreme, but surely still should be closer to 66 % at least)

De Bie has improved from 2019 by now and same for Olivier but as both were trained and had rather weak 2019 seasons, this doesn`t tell too much. De Bie still clearly underperforming while I am pretty okay with Olivier`s points.

What I couldn`t replace though were the ~1600 points from the trio Keinath/Velits/Zardini last season.

Zardini without a stat change only being on 36 % of last years ranking shows his struggle.

I guess it’s time to look me back over the shoulders, with Moser having some cobbled succes to come, with us probably scoring very little in the last part of the season. 4th would be a great result although just 1 spot off my goal would be annoying.

Thanks for the update! Top 10 suddenly looks very much possible. Maroc and Lombardia will be poor races scoring wise, so hopefully we can score big in Rheden and have a decent outing in Tasmania to stay in the top 10.

Thought perhaps Aegon would pass Aker, but still very tight going into the last races. Maroc should, on paper, be a very good race for Oliver and lift Aegon up in the safe zone, but it looks like nothing will be decided before we reach the end in Lombardia.

Puma made it a close 3-way-race outscoring us by 236 when we (arguably) had the better team on the startlist at ToNE. A shame for Evonik that they have had such a hard time lately Sad
