Happy with the KOTM jersey w/ Ben Nasser after Chamorro grabbed the KOTM in the tour of the Middle east, hopefully this means good things to come for us
Thanks for the reports btw Fabianski! |

Well, nearly perfect execution here. Had a feeling Shikai would gain time on the TTs especially since hilly TTs actually favour MO riders most of the time, and any time he loses on the hills would be made up in the TT. Shame Rolland lost 5 minutes today, and that Kuboki never did any better. Thought he might get a decent GC place here too. 2nd in the GC is a great result though for a non MO stage race for Shikai!
And just wanted to say, amazing reports! Loved all the detail, especially the TTs.

A solid result for us with Figueiredo 5th and Trofimov 6th. I can't help feeling that we had good chances of achieving better though. It didn't help that our best GC rider changed from day to day.
Anyway congratulations Scorchio. Sepulveda is showing his worth already!
And thanks for all the great reports Fabianski. Brilliant work!

Congrats to Scorchio and big thanks to Fabianski for the great reports.
While Kraftwerk fans were fretting about Flugel's 89th in GC new recruit Josue Gonzalez Cortes jumped from 31st GC to 12th GC! Plus old timer Alexandre Shushemoin sneaked 2nd in KOM.
Not a bad last day after all.

Dowsett plunging, hope this isn't a sign of the season to come (although I can't say I was expecting top results, but at least depth points), Zordan did great in the hills but the TT's were absolute disaster so, nothing to take from here.
Congratz Scorchio and thanks Fabianski for the great reports!

3 riders in the top 30, none in the top 20. Let this be a lesson to the team to LET STAN LEAD IT'S THAT SIMPLE ffs
Thanks for reporting Fabianski, awesome stuff. Really great addition to the reporting crew

That didn't look like a particularly good race for us but our PPRD return here is actually quite good thanks to points in depth.
Costa 9th in the GC is solid enough but if he was able to avoid an awful TT in which he (75TT) finished lower than one of my talents (72TT). Was an annoying one to say the least as he probably could have been pushing towards the Top 5.
Nibali 17th was quiet but impressive. Kept near the front on the road stages and held himself together in the TTs. Gaudu 34th and 4th in Youth is solid from him while Castrillo snuck into the Top 50 and finished 8th in the U25s.
Side note: Awesome to see Cosnefroy win the Youth classification! Bringing in some points for his team and showing what he's capable of.
Thanks to Fabianski for the reports which were amazing and incredibly detailed! They made the race more interesting to follow despite the obvious lack of action in TTs and TTTs.

Well 11th in the GC is better than what I was expecting after everything that happened before the last stage. The points jersey win is a nice surprise. A second stage podium in as many hilly stages shows that Wilco has all his puncher capabilities intact, which I hope is a good sign for the season. So well done Kelderman. Shame about not winning the stage but Chiarello and Berg deserves the plaudits for timing that to perfection. If not for the stupid time loss on the flat stage, Wilco would've been close to a Top 5 result, which is what we were aiming for here.
Fantastic reports Fabianksi, hats off to you! And congrats to Scorchio for the win, Sepulveda living up to his billing already.

Thanks for some great reports, Fabianski!
An alright race for us overall, with some decent stage performances from Kreder, Hermans, Gallopin and Ignatiev. Too bad we couldn't crown it off with a stage win or the KoM jersey, though. A 14th in the GC from Ignatiev is also pretty good, considering how much time we lost on the opening team time trial. Bodes well for future races!

Despite losing time I felt we did good in the TTT, limiting our losses, but I guess not enough. I still thought Bilbao would be treated as a leader, if not for GC then at least for the hilly stages. Our leader turning into a breakaway rider like a headless chicken was weird
All in all this was a disastrous race for us, especially since it's our home race
Thanks for all the reports Fabianski and congrats to all of the winners

What a fantastic way to finish this race.
We did very well throughout the race but especially at this stage the team's work was fantastic and allowed Chiarello to win the stage.
With no TT expert and no hill favorite, expectations were low at the start of this race. fortunately in the end they were largely outperformed with great results and a top10 in GC.
Congrats to all who had good results in this race, and thanks for all the great reports Fabianski.

Thanks for all the compliments. It's not so hard when you can learn from the best
Looking forward to some more nice races in the months to come - and I hope PCM18 won't play them too randomly...

Thank you for brilliant reports Fabianski. You have done really great job through whole race!
Congratulations to IXA and Rakuten for (especially the latter one) surprising huge results.
Regarding to race itself, having my rider on podium is always nice. Shame of passive AI in last stage, at least beating of 71HI Shikai would be possible. 2nd place in point competition and lucky win in U25 competition (Thanks LLS for loaning of Cosnefroy!) is decent compensation.
In any case, on base of experience from first hilly stage races (TdU, Slovenia), pure puncheurs can expect tough season with PCM18!
