I had hoped/dreamt of slightly more from Anacona, but great to see Sarabia battling on to take the KOM. Efforts like this one is why I've grown to love him so!
Thanks for a nice report

Amador is better than I thought - some teams might have a problem, and look, that's not me
I have another problem, and that's riders being even worse than very low expectations. I mean hopefully my climbers just spared energies for the next days? Because even with 76-75 mountain that's some dreadful shit...
What a report though, roturn. Lovely stuff.

Maybe I was waiting for a little more by Nazaret, but I can not complain much because others have done far worse and he was equal to himself since last season did something like in this same stage.
Now it will be quite difficult to climb in the GC but hopefully at least be able to keep this 11th..
Congrats to UBS for this great victory

What a disgraceful performance by Kiserlovski finishing behind such great climbers as Lowe or Teklehaimanot. I just hope that the reason for this result is the crash. He wasn't even this bad last season. At least Ji's result, who has similar stats, shows that a decent showing would've been possible. |

Well that was almost an amazing move by Ji, but 4th is definitely still a good result!
Itami disappointing as I kind of expected actually on stage 2 though.

Amador is the best stage racer in the division easily, there's no way he loses this as he really doesn't have any weaknesses that can be exploited. Also, what a ridiculous ride from Lowe! Bjarnte will be happy
After a so far terrible start to the year, it's nice to see Brenes have a great day out and even sprint to the line in front of Berhane and Pinot who were visibly cooked. Not too sure he'll hold his 5th GC however as he can't ride over hills.
And another crash. Becoming a bit of a regular occurance for us unfortunately.

I'm a little late to the party here, but this is a perfect result!! That's the kind of time Amador needed to be safe going into the hilly stages, and I could not have imagined he would actually get it here. The team is pretty strong so I think he should be able to defend the lead, so I'll just have my fingers crossed that there won't be a crash or anything.
Also, some great rides by Ji (although I am bummed that he faded away, he looked very strong) and Brenes in particular.
Thank you for the report!!

Valls needs to try do a bit better than 10th but not a bad effort.
Unfortunate to lose Fernandez but hopefully our riders start joining breaks so we get something out of this race!

Good stage by Preidler, even though Roche was the deserved winner. My team needs gaps though

Impressive way to show your hill stat!
Tough one for Ji though. He deserved more after yesterday's gutsy move

Terrible stage for us. Only positive is Mai not being quite strong enough to take the KOM jersey.

We are seeing theme of in general hilly stages are not necessarily the gap feast affairs the teams with high hill stat beast are hoping for - but at least the top hill men went for the stage win here after some bizzare drops earlier.
The Ji thing is perhaps believable, the Chinese ex MTB man is an irratic climber always has been, capable of sensationaly results and underwhelming also.

A better stage, didn't get the result but Valls now 9th in GC. Happy also with Herrada making a sustained attack to go up a bit in the KOM and also be 20th in the GC.

Confused with this slagter performance..
But hoping he will try again in the next hilly stage for stage glory, wasnt that far off here.
Doenst look like the GC will be shaken too much off, but seeing the other hilly stage looks alot harder, is probably a few more riders gonna be the next 'Ji'.

Three strava guys in the peloton, we should have chased for Modolo. But the guy was probably on the limit following those GC powers. He has insane recovery so I hope for a proper stage result tomorrow too.

Gilanipoor and Kozontchuk both out of the race already is a hard hit, especially with Gilanipoor, so to see Trent Lowe overperforming this much is a very good comfort for us in this sad time of abandons.
I am skeptic he can hold on to his 8th GC in the last stage with hillymadness, but if he do, we will leave Eritrea with ten times as much points as scheduled
Even though we gained on it, it's terrible to see Ji suffer like that. Let's hope he'll come back on the last stage to make up some ground.
Thank you for yet another terrific report roturn, beautiful shots and a nice detailed drama! |

We tried nothing today. And I'm not content...
Gratz danny, Roche will be a beast in these kinds of stages.
